  1. He is a rescue we took in, border lakie looking thing but big 16tts. He is an above ground only dog. I like him and dont like the idea of giving up on him but he cant keep this up. Not so bad now as they're kennelled seperate but come Summer we do alot of travelling about, camping etc and the dogs have to come. It'll be impossible if they cant be trusted together
  2. Some of you may remember a thread i posted a while back relating to my terrier attacking one of the lurchers, well its happened again and im at my wits end. Tried everything i know and all the sensible advice i got off here. If anyone knows of a dog phsycologist that deals with working dogs rather than just neurotic pets it would be much appreiciated. Thanks
  3. Sounds like a great way to spend a day, good numbers too.
  4. Dont buy deerhunter, the wife got me a pair end of last season and they've barely been used but leak already. I'll never buy another pair
  5. Could you "give a monkeys" whether you come back with the ferret or not? Ferrets are a fiver. If one doesn't come out I'll just leave it and get onother one Why not just say that then? Bleating one about the expense etc when really you just dont give a f**k? Personally i think that comment makes you a bit of a dick. I never had one when i was young and spent hours, days probably when you add it up, waiting for my ferrets. As soon as i could i got one and wont enter a ferret without simply because I wont leave a ferret behind and i simply dont always have the option of waiting
  6. Could you "give a monkeys" whether you come back with the ferret or not?
  7. I like both, enjoy being on my own, day or night, with just the dog/s but i also enjoy a mouch in company. The key to it in my opinion is finding the right company.
  8. The tunnel vision on here has to be seen to be believed. No wonder fieldsports are under threat if we cant even manage among ourselves amicably. Its always the same idiots on both sides spouting the same old crap, should be ashamed of yourselves. For the record I work dogs, ferret, shoot etc. I prefer the dogwork but thats my personal choice and doesnt give me preaching rights over anyone else.
  9. I think its actually better here than last year, its still bad now but last year was terrible. I reckon mixy and/or VHD is the problem here
  10. Your a braver, or possibly more sensible, man than me. I could never stop on 13, always have to make sure its either 12 or 14.
  11. I have a dog here who did the exact same thing, had some very expensive surgery and they managed to save some of the sight in the eye. After the post op lay up he couldnt strike for toffee but within a few nights out he learnt to compensate and to see him work now you would never know
  12. Im afraid the converted chainsaw / strimmer is the way, it may be noisy but it bolts rats. The ratattack 1 or 2 just doesnt do it anywhere near as good.
  13. Check the connection tag on the top of the collar, I've had them snap off. Its a shit design flaw and deben wont repair it. New collar time if thats the case.
  14. It's not just me then! Bloody hell, im the same. Thats very wierd
  15. Welcome aboard mate, looking forward to your posts. Its always nice to see how its done abroad
  16. Could be shes cold as well as lonely, mine are kennelled doubled up, in insulated kennels but i still put coats on them when it drops below zero.
  17. Try a decent greyhound vet? Unless you know excatly what the injury is it'll be hard to treat. Be very careful, I ruined a bitch by starting her too early, not knowing what was wrong when she got hurt and not giving her enough time to heal. Never again. Make sure you dont do the same
  18. Cheers lads, I used to work at westons so i know the lads at Andersons pretty well. I will see what they've got, anymore suggestions?
  19. My ticket has just come back with the .243 on it, im looking for advice on what to get. Im on a fairly tight budget and would prefer to spend as much as possible on the scope and keep costs down on the rifle. Please advise, thanks
  20. Got one bit of land thats used as a motocross track occassionally, its an absolute b*****d - little tiny orange bits of broken reflectors all over the place. Lost count of the times i've walked up on them.
  21. Lunita with replies like that you'll not be on here long. You're far too sensible for this site. been here long enough to know that...thats why hardly ever comment anymore ...lol Why should that be an unpopular comment? I agree, and i would of thought any other decent hunter would too, quarry deserves respect....... I also agree but we are in the minority on here
