  1. I prefer those ones. Im always torn in these situations, do you buy the very best first off then find you hardly use it or buy a cheaper version, use it all the time and wish you'd bought a better one? One of lifes questions lol. Thanks for the links
  2. Certainly not the cheapest i've seen but they look good. Possibley a bit bulky for me, i tend to wear them under a jacket so i can zip the binos inside and out the way. My friend uses butler creeks which he says are good, i just want to be aware of all the options
  3. Im planning to buy a bino harness, utterly sick of the strap, thought i'd get some feedback on which are best so I dont have to buy twice. Cheers

    Info please.

Your inbox in full Moll. Try and get someone with a trade account to get the price for you otherwise you'll end up paying through the nose. If not let me know the size and i'll get it priced then you can make them price match it. ATB
  5. Its a shame mate, sure somebody could've helped you out. Try contacting the British Deer Society and/or BASC with regards to the legalities of transporting guns etc. Which area are you planning to visit, you should be able to search google for a paid stalk. There are a few on here that do it, not sure why you never got any replies. Good luck with it, if i could help you out i would. ATB
  6. Nice write up, you need to buy yourself a stapler Jai, save a fortune at the vets
  7. Its not the bag that matters, its the sport. Looks like excellent ground for the dogs
  8. Be sure its only a scratch, one of mine did his eye. Went to the vets and they said it was a scratch, seemed to get worse so took him back, turns out the tip of a thorn had broken off inside the eyeball. Two ops and £1200 later he's ok but lost alot of the sight in that eye, took him a while to get his strike right after but he's fine now. They did say that he would have to have another op at some point as the scar will encourage the growth of cataracts. Thank f**k for insurance! Good luck with it, hope it clears up nicely.
  9. Thanks for the personal positive remark , even though my views are sometimes very different to other postees on the forum i do try to keep my responses civil and as friendly as possible and i do expect the same courtesy . I should add however your views later in your post, I dont agree with, but I like yourself are entitled to your beliefs and ideals, I am not for one moment saying your beliefs are wrong or mine are right, each of us has to live with the beliefs and actions we take, its all a matter of conscience and all i can say is my conscience in regard to by beliefs are clear and know d
  10. I'd like to congratulate capreleous and born hunter for having a most unusual discussion on here, one where two views differ and yet the discussion does not end in personal insults and ineffective ridicule, it rather highlights gerfalcon's (GP) inability to hold an adult discussion. I think it all comes down to the individual circumstances, my experience is that a clean kill can be made on the smaller deer species with a good lurcher as well as a rifle. Equally both can end in an inhumane mess if the shot is botched or the dog is not up to the task. I cannot speak for the larger species or
  11. We'll have to agree to disagree. Luckily your opinion carries about as much weight with me as mine does with you. I stiil reckon your GP on a wind up though.
  12. would suit me too but they are thin on the ground True, i've had my falcon since '99. You have to make sacrifices, no multishot, crap range of pellets, no chance to upgrade to newer models but wouldnt change to another calibre
  13. Errr I think you find the majority still hold the same view they held back in 2004. Bearing in mind that field sports are still minority sports here in the UK. I think we'll also have to accept that this is a minority view forum simple because of the general theme of the web site itself. Seriously I'm not on a wind up. Unless expressing a POV is considered to be that. What do I expect to achieve? Who knows? How about enlightenment of the unbiased. I wouldnt call myself biased. I have seen and done both methods, and both can, when done well and properly, be humane and efficient m
  14. Im not totally sure you are in such a majority as you believe, especially on here. Give up with the wind up its just counter productive, what are you actually trying to acheive?
  15. Someone this far up their own arse and this desperate to cause trouble on the forum can only be ........ Greek Phil Hit the button Simo before he manages to create an even bigger divide between us. For the life of me I cannot see what he gets out of it but whatever it is must really get him off. This whole attitude about owning quarry is a joke, if its not the coursing lads having a go at the shooters its stalkers having a pop at dogmen and singing LACs praises.
  16. Shit mate, sounds like its got worse since we spoke in the pub. I'll PM you the number of that bone man i told you about, its worth a shot. It sounds like a back problem to me, my backs shot to bits and its absolute agony when it plays up so i've got alot of sympathy for him. Let me know how he gets on. ATB
  17. If it were me and money was tight I think I'd at least have a try at a repair myself before i bought another. If not you personally then approach a decent joiner for an opinion. It may get you through while you scrape the pennies together at least? Certainly couldnt make it any worse. Lucky it wasnt your leg!
  18. So why post it? If your not planning to breed why do you want to know?
  19. Mines alright for little relaxed family type shoots but no way in the world would i take him on a proper estate day, far too much stress.
