Funny enough bush, I bought a second hand shelter with a rather rare inner and was sat watching YouTube one night and my shelter was in the video up on kinder lol. Never twigged I'd bought it off a YouTuber until I spotted the inner. It's a small world lol. -
Interesting, thanks for sharing

What got me into the wild camping was about 17yrs ago and old cumbrian mate I used go lamping with asked me if I fancied a camping trip up in Scotland. I can't remember the exact route, but was on Rannock moor above Kinloch Rannock we started from and did a solid 5 days and 4 nights out. Stopped in boffys for 3 nights and 1 night in the tent. I loved it, I add my old dog with me. I remember back then I had all old bog standard kit which weighed a ton lol. Kit has seriously moved on now as my pack now fully loaded is about 6kg ( that's without food or water ) tho. A old pic of me -
Av just gone off big boots, but maybe for winter conditions, as I said to Neal above I got a brand new pair of Handwags that need breaking inn.
-
I've got wide fit feet, and they fit well and comfy and light. Been pleased with them up to yet. Boots wise I got some very old passed there best harkilla GTX that have done hundreds of miles up on the moors chasing white hares about back in the day and was belting boots for years and years . I also got a brand new pair of Handwag boots that were fell of the back of a keeper dirt cheap lol, that are a good few years old and never worn or broke inn as the GTX were still hanging in there. But now I seem to have gone off big boots.

Tell ya mac they like slippers lol. 3 of my customers in work told me about them, 1 a fell runner and the other 2 hikers. Actually for winter i got a pair of like trainer boots light wieght and water proof inov8,s and will pair with some mountain laurel design's light weight gaiters. Bollox to walking up on to kinder scout in bare feet lol.

Fook that sh1t ! Shoes all day for this kid ! I've actually stopped wearing boots. And these days wear trail running shoes for everything. My latest pair are Hokas, waterproof ones and like wearing slippers there so comfy.

I just find it easier these days with lower pack weight. And I quite like trying out new or new to me lighter gear. -

Bad luck that mate, must admit I'm always out on my own and don't get a phone signal in some bits. I have thought about one of them GPS things just for peace of mind. Seen a Motorola defy satellite link for £159 with a years free subscription. Allows you to txt home with no signal and a SOS to thunderbirds in case your proper fooked and break summat. Just as a back up peace of mind thing really. -
The james english with peter fury looks good , when get chance to watch it.

Cheers for that, am actually working as we do a few outside events to set up and collect the morning after so for the past month I've been mowed out in work all weekends, hence not been out myself. But I will in the future mate. Cheers
