  1. I'd go along with point 1. Point two I don't go for personally, I walk around with my slip "wrong" but its comfortable, and with the butt flap in all my slips now as well, the chances of the zip going is "very slight" as there is next to no pressure on it, and even if it did the gun would be very unlikely to fall out!!! Cheers
  2. I have T3 Lite Stainless .223 and T3 Hunter .243, Both have P8 Compacts fitted. They both work well with PRVI, never going to win any world championships but for a relatively, very innexpensive round, they can both easily do 1" if I do my part. Having said that Mr L has made a few home brews over the months for me and I think it was one batch of .243 that were virtually in the same hole!!
  3. Generally similar responses on all the forums then!!
  4. Experiences and situations will be different for everyone. I've tried most over the years and settled on red (IF I needed to use one at all), lost it about 3 years ago, well p****d off at the time and had to make more use of the dimmer switch,...thats the way to go, never bother with the filters anymore, dimmer works as well as anything for me, better in many applications. ATB!
  5. It's the old chestnut, perhaps someone will actually do it one day, but there are still a lot of variables and it would be very diffifult to prove experimentally. Things like, air temperature/density, thermals, wind direction/gusts, earth curvature, etc etc!!
  6. Depends on the situation, but whatever I will always carry a good stock in the motor. Almost always use a belt in the field, it stays stocked up with a "hunting selection" so its' easy to grab and go. Sometimes carry more in the pocket! If it's a clay shoot then I'll carry my 10box (250 cart) bag and stock up the pockets from that from stand to stand. If I'm on the Skeet, DTL etc, just carry them in my pocket, the bag with spares is always close, don't use a belt here, only just thought about that, dont' know why??
  7. It depends on the variety...PRVI can be had for a bit under £10 per box 20! Others can easily be 3x that!!
  8. Clint, Inghilterra sta ottenendo il Male e la vostra destra tutto è andato in su. Rimanga dove siete e viva una vita felice! I was just going to say that!!!
  9. Like many here I have one as well, the hand is still the best and NOTHING is guaranteed 100% from any, worth having just the same, sometimes they will charge at you and sometimes the disappear double quick!
  10. I've never had a bad deer from the field, even though this is about the worst time of year for the meat, toss up between Roe and Muntjac for me as to which is the best of all the deer.
  11. Thats a bit extreme, just put an extended mod sleeve over it to lengthen it backwards, a sock has been known to work, get a sunshade for the scope, tape over the bottom of the lamp, shorten the barrel, etc etc, there are lots of ways to deal with this problem that is common on many rifles and mods!! ATB!!
  12. We are a small country with lots of houses, so it helps to keep the peace. It will tend to help with shot placement as well, more so on some calibres. Mods are easy to get here, all you have to do is shout Health & Safety and you get one. Then save your pennies! I'm not aware of any special loads designed to work through a mod, but inevitably if you reload and use a mod then you will develop the best yourself, frankly I would be surprised if the load would make that much difference, mod wise! Hats...not a clue!!
  13. Your link was to Guntrader, probably the biggest selection of rifles available in the uk there, just take a look at the CZ's and you will get a fair idea of prices.
  14. The CZ is a pretty good tool, you will not hear many complaints, and I am pretty happy, currently spread around my cabinets is this lot...the bottom one (wmr)has actually gone now but replaced with another CZAmerican WMR with a 19" barrel and SAK. Ammo prices from around £5 upwards, but expect £8-£10 generally (or more for the best)
  15. As you possibly know I have the Compact on all my centrefires now, up to and including .308. Sound reduction wise I believe you would need specialist test equipment to notice the difference from the full length P8. Weight and balance are always issues when hanging a mod on a rifle and in this respect the Compact wins hands down. ATB!!
  16. 35 yard zero is bang on at 120 yards , 50 yards zero bang on at 100 yards , you might be cleaning it to much i found with my hmr that the more i shot the better the accuracy got , because your cleaning after every outing its probabley taking a few shots to get back on again , i wouldnt clean it myself untill its shot 500 rounds or so or when it starts losing accuracy again. i stand corrected I recon that is close with 17g ammo, but what is this all about??? If he is shooting wildlife at 100 yards plus, then stuff all this zeroing at 35 yards and "hoping"...simply zero
  17. When I bought the gun I had 60 Hornady 55 grainers with it so I've been using them up but will then be getting some Norma 40 grainers. DAVE What twist Rate is that one...1-8 or 1-12, I wouldn't invest in too many of those 40g until you try them!! ATB!!
  18. On the face of it you would be better with two rifles, but a lot depends on how serious you want to get about target shooting, 3 ft long barrels weighing 12-14lbs are not best suited for strolling around the countryside with usually, and triggers that break when you look at them tend to be a bit iffy for hunting! Lots of us shoot 500-600 yards commonly on the range, some out to 1000, with our "hunting" tools, we are never going to win any titles that way but you can achieve VERY accetable results, and you may be able to get away with a one gun offering that way!
  19. We all come to our own conclusions for our own reasons and if you are after one of these then absolutely fine of course, but, can I ask what has drawn you to these offerings, as neither would even make the bottom of my list!! ATB!
  20. Sorry, Looking at target only at the moment, hoping to go >500 yards eventualy. .223 upwards is VERY capable of 500 yards...the phrase "looking at target only at the moment......"..... are you looking for a dedicated target rifle or something general purpose for future field work as well? This will make a lot of difference to the rifle choice!
