  1. How do your dogs go on with the hard sun baked ground regards injuries?.
  2. Buzzards near you must carry Kalashnikovs.
  3. Mixi just started here they seem to get it this time every year,I’ve been walking round trying to catch up the mixi ones!
  4. That’s right terry but the world has changed there has been a population explosion more mouths to feed and less land to do it, so most farmers with arable land want no rabbits and are happy for someone to rifle the lot,the pressures on the rabbit population is much greater now than in the 1950s but like you say they are resilient but maybe we should all have a think what the future holds for are kind of hunting.
  5. How many on here can honestly say when out with the dogs, ferrets, guns they say that’s enough for today with a couple of rabbits? Not many of us! Like has been said everything and one are hunting rabbits, once rabbits are knocked back through constantly been shot, dogged etc then a dose of mixi it’s difficult to come back from especially when folks are still hunting them when they are virtually non existent. In 1980 rabbits round my way were very thin on the ground until a lad who had some good permission in the dales kept bagging rabbits when ferreting and released them at home it worked wonders
  6. I was given a lighting a while since and couldn’t hit anything with it, lad I know said bet the barrel is bent and stock is cracked and it did have a hair line crack in the pistol grip,he said it’s common problem when the gun isn’t cocked properly which sends the barrel flying up wards bending it and cracking the stock, sure enough the Barrel was bent which cost £29 to straighten. Have a look down the Barrel.
  7. Is that an old bedford van? What year was pic taken?.
  8. Have you watching Dads army? Arthur Lowe was captain mainwaring?
  9. Last cz 1.7 I bought was under £300 new 10 yr ago, cz make really good rifles for rabbit control etc, if I we’re to go down the rimfire route again I would have the 22 over 1.7. The 1.7 are really good but over kill for rabbits plus bullets were more than twice the price.
  10. It’s a lot of money for air rifle and what will it be worth if We’re made to have a certificate for are air rifles ? I’ve given up my FAC after many years with a rimfires as I don’t really have the need now but if in the future I need a certificate for my air rifle I may as well buy another rimfire,I think they would be a glut of air rifles bringing prices down.i remember the 250 law with motor bikes which left 250s worth less.

  19. I’ve tried but it’s having none of it.
  20. If I’ve nothing to lean on I try to shoot of my knee but it’s not always possible at this time of year with nettles & thistles etc so I thought I would give a stick ago,I’ve cut a hazel stick with a fork,I’ve put some hose pipe over over each fork so it doesn’t scratch the gun and give it a try in the garden it’s seems ok, I test it in the field tomorrow ?.
  21. Think I am going to try that because there’s not always something to rest on,I will look for a nice light hazel stick today.
