  1. As a lad reading the airgun world pellet tests I always wanted a feinwerkbau because it always seem to come out on top regards FPS lol,I’ve seen on here some lads still shoot the old models but do feinwerkbau make a modern alternative if so what’s it like?.
  2. Nice dogs especially the one on the left how’s it bred?.
  3. I am only recently back into air rifles I’ve bought a pcp which is great but I fancy a spring gun as well for hunting & plinking I’ve also been thinking about joining an air rifle club so for me this is a good thread,my short list so far is hw97 -hw77 or maybe hw80 and most likely in 177.
  4. Ted running while drinking lager it’s not easy I’ve tried.
  5. What class would you put that dog in? I am abit out of touch with terrier & lurcher shows, I bet it’s 20 years since I’ve been to a game fair are they still as easy to sneak into?.
  6. Try your local PDSA and tell them your predicament.
  7. As an experiment why don’t you try a good quality complete dog food just to see if it can keep the weight on your young dog,Aurtarky is a good one,it would be interesting to see how it compared to the diet you use now.
  8. Any recommendations were to buy them from, ive had a quick look John knibbs does them for £12.50 for the kit.
  9. I like her,I wouldn’t waste my time wondering what’s in her make up as like you said you will know, she looks in great condition just how a pup should look, well done & good luck.
  10. I’ve left my bsa ultra SE for around 10 days while on my hols with half on the gauge it now got just under quarter! Is this normal? If not is it seals? Can anyone recommend any vids on how to change them? Cheers.
  11. Pics as requested black lab was out of Sam of Drakeshead about 5 in pic,I would say he would have been an ideal type for lurcher breeding, very bright fast & athletic, yellow dog bout 4 in pic, he’s stopped with pricked bird in mouth marking other birds hitting floor many of them running, that’s what picking up is all about finding the wounded ones as there worth £40 a bird in regards the cost to the guns for a days shooting, pic of both labs & cocker watching birds hitting the floor waiting to be sent individually for wounded birds.regards cost of a good well bred lab at stud you could ge
  12. You don’t need to go to Drakeshead kennel directly there’s loads of lads with dogs from that kennel that would be ideal, I used to charge £150 to use my old lab to a lab.
  13. Is the dog shaking is head making the ear worse? Is so use some electrical tape round the dogs head holding the ear in place, looks a twat but it rest the wound speeding the healing process up.
  14. Drakeshead are in Chorley aren’t you in North Yorkshire? Regards quicker lab what would it bring? With a slimmer faster type there would be less litter wastage, the half crosses would be quick enough to catch rabbits, regards what a lab would bring to the mix if you had owned the labs I have you wouldn’t have asked that question,I’ve owned working Bedlingtons at the same time as labs so I can compare these two breeds,I personally think a good lab cross would take some beating .
  15. I agree nothing to touch labs,I’ve one still at home now but he’s 13 this week too old for shagging I am afraid, I’ve had working dogs 35 years labs spaniels lurchers terriers but this old lab has been fantastic, 3-4 for days a week picking up on busy estate plus flushing rabbits to shoot unbelievable stamina.
  16. I have but can’t put up till tomorrow, if you google Drakeshead.com that’s John halsteads website you can have a look at his labs.
  17. He’s a nice type but I would look for a Drakeshead bred dog as they are more athletic,I had one out of Sam of Drakeshead who was very fast, the dog in the pic looks to have a big head shortish legs this is not a criticism of the dog but there are much better labs for crossing with a greyhound, around 15-20 years ago me and a friend tried to breed this cross but his greyhound never came properly in to season it was a real shame as my lab would have thrown some great first crosses.
  18. I can’t see the harm in a whippet section,it would be more relevant regards hunting rabbits than some of the dogs discussed also if you don’t agree then just keep off the section.
  19. Cheers lads I am going to leave it around half full so it doesn’t end up empty, is it normal for them to loose air after a month or so?.
  20. I’ve gone off feeding mince chicken instead I get fish bits from my local chippy 50p for just under a pound bag of off cuts of haddock & cod , tins of sardines 34p a tin in oil from Lidl, eggs, so every meal time there’s something different on there Aurtarky chicken meal £13.80 a 15kg bag from Costco, they look and go well on it,over the years I’ve tried all sorts, rabbits for years but I would say they look better on a good quality meal with plenty fish oily fish eggs which are high grade proteins, some proteins are harder for the body to digest that’s why body builders eat eggs fish &
  21. Sometimes it was frozen but I found the best way to split it was hammer and brick knicker couple of clouts it was in half.
  22. It’s a bsa ultra se bottle doesn’t come off, I’ve a pump but it’s not too difficult to blow up from 1/4 full, so your saying you don’t want much air left in? Cheers.
  23. Stanacre chicken in Wakefield best mince chicken I’ve bought for dogs, spotlessly clean place, I think I was paying 50p for 5 lbs block of minced chicken, there’s a website for contact details, not sure if the do delivery’s .
