    Having no main drains , I opted for a 4ft depth soak away across the back of the kennel. Good lighting is a must !!!

    Most of what I know was picked up from my old man like many others, Being a pigeon man of the old school his knowledge of stockmanship was top grade. Not having his pigeon passion never sat easy with him really, I only saw them as ferret food to be honest. Most lofts back in the day always had a terrier or two , and his was no different. Being an avid follower of hounds , and terrier work in particular. My early years were spent constantly around his feet . And as I've grown , my passion for terriers grew alongside me.     I must say , never heard a peep out of Daniels dogs when he came for a visit . Even my dogs kicking off never stirred them . On the subject of first encounters , I've always opted for a flush an chase from cover for a youngster.

    My older russel will work rabbits in cover but won't drop on them, Though I've dug 5 1/2 foot to him baying a rat behind a boulder. Once they get in the habit of working bunnys to ground, it's difficult to stop. I've always bashed a pup on rabbits early an teach them their limits. And once their bashing well, ease off on the rabbits. All depends on how much time you put in to the dog really . Though some terriers are born just to be a twat no matter what !

    Crushed garlic rubbed on the skin helps but stinks. Though lemon zest is best imo.
