Two types of cells in and around the broken bone kick in , in order to begin the healing process. Chrondoblasts...which makes and repairs cartlidge. Osteoclasts ......which breaks bone down and reshape . Both will leave a callus on the repair.

Wood ash is good for the compost adding many trace elements. I use the compost to mulch the fruit tees and bushes. And a dressing of ash around the strawberrys.

Out last night to the tip, only took the Winnie bitch on account of the traffic on site . Two hours of none stop action as soon as we went through the gate. 48 in total though we lost a few in the rubbish.

Lets See Your Working Russells
Treehands. replied to whitefeet4190's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
I think you would find the white terriers were of good type back in the day east coast , long before the Sealyham. Hienmanns dogs were all of good confirmation , as were the ilfracombe digging club dogs . Widespread street breeding brought about the j r t. to its many bastardised shapes and sizes imo. Adding Lakeland type to smarten them up was a ribbon exercise pure and simple it just made for a gassey work ethic . As for the best leaving in the 80s , maybe best in shows . There's still plenty of good white lines about today if you search in the right places. -
