    I watched The Irishman tonight. ............ it was ok - a long film at over 3hrs. It was a weird sort of geriatric Goodfellas. ......... The ending was abrupt - I would have liked to see a bit more with DeNiros character and his daughter. I got the impression that a lot of famous names were having a crack at topping up their accounts. Worth a watch if you have some time to kill and aren't expecting much from a decent cast.

    I'm sat here now watching Road House - it's a classic ......... Point Break is another favourite that I might watch again soon. Like a lot of 80s girls, one of the missus favourites is Dirty Dancing. I can't help watching this and think about what a shit way that was for Swayze to check out - RIP.

    Yes, I think that's definitely been a contributing factor across the board in top level sports but, I do think natural evolution has had a small role to play as well.

    I think athletes and, people in general are physically progressing. Roger Bannister did the mile in 3:58 in 1952 - lots of people have done it since. ........ I think the fastest now is a Moroccan at something like 3:43. People set another benchmark then, others push to better it - look at some of the weights lifted in strongman competitions.

    As an amateur looking in, Tyson Fury seems to be quite clever - yes he's tall and quite ungainly but, he makes that work for him. From what I've seen, his punch is weak for his size (I'd love to see him deliver something devastating but he doesn't/can't) so, I think he does his homework and stops everyone from fighting their own fight. ............ he's an awkward fighter with size and a half decent chin on his side and, considering the devision at the moment, I think that's enough.

    Can't argue with any of that. As much as I like the idea of seeing these animals in the British countryside (imagine a herd of wild Bison stampeding across the Cotswolds and shitting up the locals ), I would fear for their future as an unnatural introduction.
