  1. I like that quote "it's no different to taking a selfie with a steak".Well done that girl. I like her - she's a good 'un I hope she carries on for years to come.
  2. Cheers Grey All tips are appreciated mate I'll try different aim points ........ and emery cloth. I could have kicked myself when I hit the forks.
  3. That's come up nice Will the wax bring out the detail even more or, is it just to weatherproof it?
  4. My mate had a metal Milbro catty as well when we were kids. It could just a touch of the rose tinted spectacles but, I seem to remember him being pretty good with his.
  5. If I had a spare £500 kicking around right now - I'd have this BNs got in sales for bang on your budget. I do kind of agree with what you said about the warranty on a new rifle but, you'll get so much more going used. Either way, good luck with your choice
  6. I've read and watched a lot of stuff about cattys over the last few months and, I guess at the moment, I need to figure out my anchor point and aim point. Then, just keep practicing until I can be consistent. At the moment, I think my anchor is to bring my knuckle to my ear lobe. I had a go at a box stuffed with cardboard this morning - the cross is drawn on a sheet of A4 and, the shots were taken from 15 paces. There was a couple of times when I suspect I tilted the forks and, completely missed the box So far, I'm liking this - I like the idea of experimenting to find what wo
  7. The TBG, craft knife, metal ruler, hole punches, cutting mat and 12mm bearings arrived recently ...... Still waiting on the 10mm bearings. I grabbed a pair of rigger gloves from work so that I can cut the leather off to make pouches. I cut some bands at 30mm x 300mm and, managed to get them attached. ..... the longer draw is more comfortable and, it feels more natural but, I don't think the bands need to be this wide - I'm going to try some the same length but 20mm wide. The keen eyed among you may spot that I've already scored a couple of fork hits
  8. It's been a long time since I last properly used a catapult. As a kid, I had a Black Widow - the last time I saw it was just after discovering that a glass marble could leave a nice round hole in a window - that cost me the catty and a bloody good wallop Scroll on 30ish years, things seem to have evolved a bit and, there's some very nice cattys and, some very skilful people using them I've got fond memories of going out with Grandad as a kid to help check his snares - he'd always have a catty with him. There'd usually be a couple of pigeons in his pocket by the time we got back.
  9. Nice update Tili ...... I'll look forward to seeing you out with it mate.
  10. And that's why this whole thing thing was so difficult - 2 very good arguments from Neo and Pesky. ...... The whole thing has been emotionally charged. I'm glad I'm not the one that had to make the final decision.
  11. I saw that BN - that's a nice looking bit of kit I bet that longer tube and reg are very handy additions
  12. Welcome Dan Have a good read through some of the posts on the Airgun section - it's a wealth of information mate.
  13. Same as advice given by The one. I would add that make sue you have pellets from the same batch Good luck and all the very best. Oh yes Welcome and pleasant times Yep, +1 mate Also, as said, get to know your kit at different ranges. Don't be too eager to go out and hunt - learn your rifle and your prey first - it'll be a much more rewarding experience when you do go out Good luck and atb
  14. Welcome aboard mate I'm also in Wiltshire (Swindon) - it's not a bad ol' place to be really. I reckon you'll like the HW100ktla ..... I still regret selling mine. Atb
  15. Racist black b*****d - if it's that bad here, he could always f**k off ..... That's the great thing about this country - he's got that choice

    Seagulls

I don't think they can be encouraged to go away mate - gulls can be pretty tenacious. There's some old bag a few doors away from me that feeds them ...... I hate them, they shit everywhere - on the can, the washing, the windows. You can guarantee that if I shot one, she'd have the old bill straight round. As already said, black backed gulls are on the GL now but, there are conditions. Could you put netting over the dogs feeding area? I suppose if a gull got tangled, it could be euthanised, bagged and binned

    First Dog

I've never had hunting dogs but, I remember a little black, smooth coat mongrel called Lady when I was very young. We lived in a mobile home and, she used to open the windows and get out. We never had another family dog after that. We've now got 2 Chihuahuas - I suspect that one of them has terrier in it somewhere down the line. Again, they're not workers. They're funny little fuckers that love being out in the woods and fields.
  18. Maybe they just use the same jig for a couple of different stocks Mark. There's a couple of lads at the club that have Walthers - they seem to be decent kit
  19. Cheers Sean ...... They seem to go well in BSAs - my old Superten liked them as well.
  20. It's not good I wonder when they'll figure out the link between allowing all and sundry into the country and, attacks by religious nutters
  21. Put a picture up mate My FN12 is .22. I've got it set at 11.8ftlb at the moment and, I get around 35 good shots from a 160bar fill. These things are so easy to adjust up or down - if the previous owner has left it a little warm, it could explain the low shot count. ........ put it over a chrono and take it from there
  22. Sounds like a good night ...... You got a better result than I ever did with the ultra mate Were you using the FTTs?
