  1. Yes, that. The Viper is the base model. The Wolf has more IR so will see farther. The Eagle has better range again. I've been using a Viper for around 4yrs - I like them
  2. That looks like it - it had a remote control on a wire for the range finder (?) and some other functions. Good picture btw
  3. I think that might be the kiddie that David Evans uses - expensive looking rectangular scope?
  4. Thank you for the offer mate - much appreciated I've tried a Photon and that posh one that that David Evans has got - they both made me feel dizzy I reckon I could be stuck with screens or daytime hunting - unless I learn to use a lamp
  5. I reckon it is mate - I was amazed at some of the shots that just went wherever they wanted to. ....... I know it's definitely not the rifle because it was spot on again today at the club i might give lamping a go - my Ledray torch has got a rats tail switch and different coloured filters. ...... The golf club is huge - there will be corners where they're not lamp shy
  6. I don't doubt him but, I didn't even get to try it at night i daren't try to hunt with it. ....... Lesson learned
  7. It's shocking really, for what it costs. The NS has a little power pack that lasts for hours but, it's small enough to attach to the scope
  8. Dave's invited me up to the golf club again this Tuesday so, it was time to bring back old faithful The Airmax is back where it belongs, ready to be matched up with the Viper when it gets dark. I've also fitted separate mounts this time, instead of the 1pc, so that I can get the bracket on for the NV rangefinder I spent some time at Black Cat today making sure that I was properly zeroed with JSB Heavies. ..... I also mapped out the reticle for Polymags. Interestingly, the Polymags needed no windage adjustment - just hold under. ....... I mig
  9. The problems started when Dave rang and invited me up to his golf course permission. ....... We agreed to get there for 7:30pm. I thought I'd have a quick zero then, set off for some day time hunting and, just switch the X-Sight to night mode when it got dark. The X-Sight runs of 4 x AA batteries - I'd heard that it gobbles through these pretty quickly. There is a battery pack that can be purchased but, I hate having extra things strapped to the rifle butt. I got in from work and went to put the torch on the unit then, I discovered that it runs off
  10. A few weeks ago I bought an ATN X-Sight II 3-14 because I've been looking around for something that could eventually go on my TX for some night time springer hunting. ...... Initially, to get to grips with it and, to learn all of it's technology, the plan was to have it on the HW100 for a while. On the face of it, it should have been an excellent bit of kit - HD camera, Obsidian app, 1 shot zero, day & night use, range finder & shot correction (once set up), GPS & WiFi, take pictures and record video, all sorts. It's a solid, well made unit and, it's p

    Scrap men

I saw that - the lad that had taken it could have easily been mistaken for someone with a mental disability or brain damaged. ....... And people pay for that shite
  12. Cheers Jimmy I was lucky that I know my RFD so well - I got him to rob that stock off another 100 for me when I bought it.
  13. Same here Dave. People still do the 'To you, to me' when they're moving stuff I didn't realise he was in his 70s. Rip
  14. I do know someone round here that's got an Impact I haven't seen him for a while because we've both been working so much but, I'll give him a shout and invite him out for a shoot I had a hold of a laminate Wildcat at the RFD a few months back - I did like it. ....... Si did well with his at the rugby club down here - he got one of the tricky little feckers by the bottom pitch
  15. I'm a big fan of Crickets - another nice solid little rifle ...... Those ones with a full length stock look spot on. I've never tried a Vulcan Rob - maybe one day The one pain in the arse about that Matador was the cocking bolt - you have to bring the rifle back down to load the next shot, unless you're a contortionist
  16. Good shooting Phil i actually like NS - I've been using a Viper for around 4yrs. I find a cap and veil is a must because of the screen - I've found that using mine on full power to scan for rabbits then, turning it down and using the edge of the screen to stalk in works quite well. With the kit set up on a full length HW100, A shooting stick comes in very handy. Which ever way you go - Enjoy it mate
  17. He needs putting on his arse and being taught some respect for his birthday - they all do.
  18. I'm going to go against the grain a bit here....... I can appreciate the Impact in so much as it is built for a job and, on most accounts, is very capable of doing that job. It's looks lightweight and purposeful. Now, I've not tried one but, I can't see me ever wanting one - they look too exposed, like all of the important parts aren't protected enough if it was dropped or knocked in the dark. I'm also not a fan of that bottle hanging out in the wind with just the neck threads for support - I never liked it on rifles like the Verminator or Stealth either.
  19. A day out doing gun stuff is never a bad day
  20. Savage scum in that video. ...... And they wonder why we don't want them over here. One of the reasons I voted leave was because some poxy lefty will pluck them off their own coast, bring them all the way to Europe then, some Wop politician in southern Europe will issue them a pass document, knowing full well that they'll f**k off north (not my problem jack) in the hope of getting to the UK. f**k that, the Spics and Frogs are welcome to them as long as they don't cross the channel. The sooner we leave Europe to its own misery the better.
  21. That's a cracking result And, nice rifle.
  22. Nice offer Jimmy It'd be a shame to see that broken down for parts.
  23. Nowt wrong with sticking to the limit but, the conditions today were dry and sunny - some old farts are perfectly capable drivers, some need to give up their license. Btw, I'm not a young driver and, I've never had a single point on my license
