  1. If I'd known I could have sent up a bottle or hired a midget or something Si, have a really good day mate. ......... Happy birthday and, all the best
  2. His birthday tomorrow? He fekin kept that quiet
  3. Good result mate ....... I always see more rabbits at night, especially if it's somewhere that I've been shooting for a while.
  4. It's better than sitting in front of the telly mate That looks like a cracking spot for Rabbit - is there much sign in that dip?
  5. Agreed - the older MTC scopes are much better than the new ones - you could do a lot worse than pick up an original Viper or Mamba. ......... They seem to be more solidly built and, the older SCB reticle is a lot less cluttered, and easier to use. Depending what you go for, you should be able to get one for £100 - £150. I'll also chuck a vote in for Hawke and Falcon scopes - both well made and good value.
  6. Cheers mate They're a pretty good bunch at work - it's nice to see them try and like new things
  7. Cheers Rez That golf course is a nice place to be mate.
  8. Cheers Si It's actually not that bad up there mate - the brown grass is pretty short so, it doesn't make much noise. ...... It's under the trees where the twigs and leaves are that's really crunchy if you're not watching your steps. The RFD will look after me all right mate ....... I can't get in there yet though - the place caught fire at the start of July - they're still trying to sort it out now. ....... The firefighters must have had some bollocks to go in there while it was burning
  9. Cheers chaps Time spent mapping out my reticle really worked well that evening
  10. Cheers Phil ....... I swear those little feckers know there's a rabbit in the boot before I get out of the car
  11. Cheers U ....... I do like to be able to use what I shoot
  12. Cheers Dave To be honest mate, I think I was daft to consider changing it.
  13. The cover is mental down here at the moment with the heat and rain - there's stinging nettles as high as my face on some of my usual routes at the moment.
  14. I reckon it'd be fine to eat mate - yes, that's an odd thing to fall out of it's head but, if the liver's good, I'd eat it
  15. I've never had that happen but, at a guess, I'd say the pellet impact has caused internal damage and pressure which has dislodged some part of its anatomy. ....... If that is the case, that bit could look different to how you'd expect because of the damage. Olfactory lobe?
  16. Run into a post office with it on Jimmy
  17. The dogs went mental when I got home last night because they could smell the rabbit One of their favourite treats is the liver, kidneys and heart, lightly fried. It makes me laugh that they always to lick each others plates when they've finished eating
  18. Just as it was getting dark, we all met back at the cars to sort the NV. We headed off to the far end of the course where there's a couple of good warrens but, we didn't see much other than a couple of foxes hanging around. I did find one in the long grass, by a house that backs onto the course. The little CRSUK range finder said it was 44yrds - again, off the sticks, a little hold over and, the pellet hit home well ....... This one was a bit more animated than the first so, I lost him in the grass. the area was only 40yrds from the houses back windows a
  19. The shot was taken from those darker trees in the background - I was chuffed to bits with it
  20. When the light started fading, I went for a walk. I eventually caught a bit of movement - there was the first rabbit, over the stream - 51yrds away I've only just mapped out my reticle again so, the 100 went up on the stick, nice and steady, a little hold over and, the shot hit perfectly A good loud crack and, it rolled over and acted like it was kick starting it's motorbike.
  21. Mark was a couple of hundred yards along there somewhere. Dave was off sat watching a different area. All we saw come along here was a bloody dog walker
  22. Dave invited Mark and me back up to his golf course permission again last night Now that I've got the HW100 back to being set up how it should be and, I've got more staff at work, I jumped at the chance We got there for 7:30pm so that we could have some daytime hunting before we took the NV out. i sat in this spot, tucked into the treeline, for an hour or so, watching the bushes at the bottom of the hill - that's a nature reserve just beyond so, we usually get rabbits coming through. ....... Those bushes are 45yrds away.
