  1. I can remember my parents telling me when they saw there first ever coloured person as kids and everyone was crossing the road to avoid them, that's just in one generation,
  2. I guess until the case is proven beyond doubt, it is a mythical beast, like Bigfoot, Nessie and the cubracabra, only thing that gives it slightly more credit is that sightings increase year on year and the grainy pics are getting a bit better and more frequent, I,ve seen enough to convince myself beyond any doubt, I just need to gather enough evidence to convince the rest of the world
  3. Sadly that's not your call to make mate, I can gauarantee things are moving along slower than I,d like admittedly, but still in the right direction, it's not all just about producing a perfect picture or a dead body there are meetings going on with shooting and conservation groups, the police have to be involved and there are papers being drawn up by professors and leading vets to support our claims, none of this is headline grabbing and it's all done for free at our own personal expense in people's own spare time so really your guarantee is not very valid and totally unstabstanciated sorry
  4. Nice one, every dead magpie is a bonus, thats half a dozen small birds that will fledge rather than be eaten ?
  5. Don't panic mate just because I,m not posting don't mean things have stopped, 9 months is a drop in the ocean when searching for mythical beasts, but a lot has happened in those 9 months behind the scenes, and I,m still out there loving every minute,
  6. In my younger days we spent all are spare days at a local lake, one mate never went home for 16 weeks and ended up with a robin living in his bivvie it would sit on his sleeping bag every morning and wake him up for food, if I only have a few maggots the fish in my pond get them but if I have lots I just freeze them all and use for bait next time as live maggots bury themselves in silt were as dead ones lay on the silt and make a good visual attractor
  7. 53 percent protein, 28 fat,6 fibre and 5 percent moisture if fed dry, it's not possible for an animal to loose all goodness just through drying out, we eat lots of dehydrated fruit and meat as a species ourself they are fine, bread has very little goodness in but most birds don't say no to it, like Maccy,s if it's part of a balance diet its fine, eat nothing but and you would be in trouble
  8. Most bull breeds of dog have a rather round footprint which can be quite easily confused for a cat if you can't see the back pad, often wider than it is long , ( know your prey and know your land ) terry grant mantracker
  9. The meal worms are just dehydrated mate nowt wrong with them, just soak them in warm water to rehydrate them and the birds love them
  10. If it's buzzards you are still referring to your chicken mate should,nt worry they are pretty happy scavenging most of the time not a very active hunter, there,s a fresh planted field I pass quite often and there can be as many as 10 buzzards on it all looking for worms, and really the perigrine is the pigeon specialist buzzards are to lazy, I have 5 pair of peregrine nesting near my house but still shit loads of pigeons
  11. Nice one on all the hare photo,s lads that's more than I will see all year in my area, seems to be less every year, I don't think it's a coincidence that as the badger numbers grow the hares suffer, the valley I have had my cameras out in for the past two years used to be alive with hares sadly the badger numbers are now staggering but I,ve only seen one hare in over a year which is very sad, really great to see them doing well in other areas, thanks for sharing and keep them coming
  12. It's a canid for sure, dog or fox and shame on the badger caller as all mustelid,s have 5 toes that's all stoats, weasels, mink otters and badgers, anyone else taking footprints for identification it is a big help if you put an everyday item next to the print like a phone or even a coin, tape measure even better, the toes being a bit splayed out and claws like that the animal was possibly running,

    Parabeam

Sorry mate don't have a clue about that, but I have caught quite a few undesirable types on trail cams including fly tippers scramblers cutting fences onto private land and a burglar that was caught within 2 hours with all the swag still on board totally unaware that he had triggered the camera with his face everytime he placed another item in his car, they start at about £35 upto around £150 and the better models will even send you a text when they are triggered possibly even a pic of what's going on, I,m thick as shit so just have mine on basic trigger 20 second video mode but they can do lo
  14. I,m not claiming any responsibility, ownership or even any knowledge of this photo, but as an outdoor type people send me things they see and think I might like. I got sent this picture the other day from someone who saw it online and grabbed it for me, having spent hours watching and trying to get pics of kingfishers I can appreciate what an effort this must have been, so thought I,d share it sorry if it's been shown before but I did,nt want to check through 100 pages cheers
  15. Mate don't know what your view is about buying on tick, but my son has just gone into curry,s signed on the dotted line and walked out with a cannon eos 750 D plus a few bits of kit for the grand sum of £12 a month or £3 a week and as he say,s he,s never going to hand over £800 for a camera but doing it like that he,s not missed it, cheers

    Hungry

Natural instinct in cold weather mammals need fat,
  17. Just done a load of jerk chicken in the woodburner, proper nice and only had to open the door for wood. sound
  18. That's inflation, when I was at school dole heads got free dinner and non dole heads 12p but because the tickets were a different colour for each, many kids who,s parents could,nt afford the 12p would not accept the free meal tickets because it showed you as being poor so you got feck all for lunch but had an hour down the field playing footy or nesting down the woods, happy days
  19. Drinkable water is a massive draw for them at the moment as all the ditch,s are full of run off salt water from the over enthusiastic gritters and anything fresh is frozen, can be a pain in the ass but each time you have a cuppa put a bit of warm water out for the birds

Anything like that mate I would bin it, you don't even know if the contents of the bottles is what is on the label and you never needed them last week so probably won't need them next week either, if in doubt throw it out would be my advice
  22. When we start reverting to child like insults it's quite clear we have no argument, did,nt anyone ever tell you the stronger the language the weaker the argument, you,ve got yourself so worked up you seem to have lost the ability to string a sentence together, go and take the pug for his walk on the towpath and breath in some of that lovely clean Scottish air before you do yourself a mischief or Putin poisons it all
  23. I,m going to leave now as you are so sold on your belief, you won't have to worry about being stabbed in the back as no one wants to invade Scotland and never have and your views and opinions are very typical of someone living in a small cut off community , a bit like some of those paranoid nutters out in the woods of Alaska, just learn to row your own boat and stop getting all sweaty and full of false anger about a man living thousands of miles away with zero interest in you or what your doing, the sun is shinning it's a lovely spring day and I think I,m off out to enjoy it, without getting
  24. That is some pretty impressive footage I must admit, most of my photo,s are relatively close in as in fishing trophy shots, footprints and dead animals, but sometimes when you see an unusual bird it would be nice to have that kind of zoom, I,m assuming you would need to mount it on a tripod or is that just an issue with digital zoom ??
