  1. We have five permanent hides and each one has both a shelf to hold cartridges, drinks, phone etc etc plus a cross bar to rest the rifles when using them so why don't you think about a slight modification to the hide so you build in rifle supports and anything else you need. It is also worth looking for a seat you can leave there so it is always ready to go. We have either a double seat box or two garden chairs in each hide, be comfortable when you are just sat there. Phil
  2. If you are using a take down / portable hide that is always going to be the same height, you could cut the bipod to a suitable size for that hide or look to buy a camera tripod but be aware many of the cheap ones are not rigid and you need it to be and I would also buy a black tripod otherwise the polished silver legs will need painting. A decent make is Velbon and not too expensive. Velbon camera tripod WWW.EBAY.CO.UK <p dir="ltr" style="margin-top:0; margin-bottom:0;">camera tripod and Pullman bag. Condition is "Used". 4. It may be worth calling Hull Cartridge and ask if they have any marked or slight damaged stocks in their warehouse as I know they do get them and I believe they don't all go back to Germany. Nothing to lose. Phil
  5. Thanks for the feedback guys, at least I now know what it is. I might have a go at the stock this winter although I doubt for one second it will finish up like the stocks I have seen that Jimmy has done even on my tiny Diana model 16 which looked like pallet wood until Jimmy worked his magic. Hmmm might just leave it alone ?
  6. I going to look in amongst those 300 guns to see if there is a 127 stashed in the group, what a lovely gun to handle, great balance and accurate....................Jimmy packed it away before I had the chance to hide it away.......................bugger. Phil
  7. The stock is a plain one Jimmy so I will be really interested to see the final result, might have a look to see if there are any more in the stock room where that one came from. Phil
  8. When Jimmy and Jason came yesterday and we all settled on the rifles we were going to have, one query I forgot to raise with Jimmy was the HW35 I had decided to have appeared a little different to the others and when I picked them up, the rfd thought perhaps this one was a HW35 Export but as this was part of a 300 gun collection simply popped into storage until such time that the rfd could go through all the guns to establish what there was. So with some thought that this one could be an Export, can anyone tell me how to tell the difference but here are a couple of things that is different to
  9. I don't know how I missed this last night Jimmy so I am sorry for the late response. It was a pleasure having you both here and I know Trish was really pleased to see you again. Good job I have that super size canopy so we were able to carry on playing in the rain. A good fun day with a good result AND my dear Trish has said she is going to buy me the hw35.......................winner winner xmas dinner. Hope we can do it again before too long but next time, pull Si away from work to join us and we will have the clay pigeon traps set up in the quarry for next time as well. Phil
  10. Well a very enjoyable day, great to see Jimmy again and good to meet Jason. Hope you boys had a decent journey home and didn't get stuck with those road works and have to go the long way around. I think both are happy with the guns you have bought, I will take the dosh and the other gun back into the shop in the next few days. One thing Jimmy, you forgot something...........................................?? Oh well, next time mate or I will take it to Si's and leave it there for when you see him. Did you take that .22 mod for me to try at Si's house on your last visit becau
  11. Depending on what is left after tomorrow Jimmy. It will be good to see you again mate, its been too long. What time are you two going to land here, pity Si is working or he could have come as well. Phil
  12. You like the most expensive........................hmm know your sort ?
  13. Now then bonney lad, I have been to pick up some rifles for you to have a play with on Saturday. Form the left, a BSA Airsporter, then 3 x HW35 and then a weird green machine better known as a Baikal which is a freebie for full strip down and refurbish. The rifle second from the right has one of my scopes on and I confess I like this one myself so it might get removed from the group.....................Hmmmmmm I look forward to meeting you on Saturday mate and I will see what else I can find to take the p1ss in future posts ??? Phil
  14. Oh perhaps you should be Jason.....................................?? Phil
  15. The EVO is a nice handling gun, don't know what they did with these but they handle far better than the original 686 / 687. Phil
  16. That looks really nice and much nicer than your balls in black underpants. ? Phil

  19. What about those web site I gave you Jimmy, perhaps one there. Phil
  20. Clay shooting every time, love it. As a retired old fart, I can no longer afford competition shooting otherwise I would be fully switched on to that again. Our perms are mostly crops so not much shooting at present although feral pigeon shooting with the air rifle is good fun. Phil
  21. That stock looks like it has some lovely grain Jimmy. Phil
  22. There is a lot of dials on that bugger Jimmy, when do you go on the training course......................? Phil
  23. Well you will see it very soon jimmy but it really is a lovely stock and I am going to route around in the back room at the rfd to see if there is a spare cylinder in the odds and ends drawer although I would like to have a Lanes air gauge / side fill port which look ideal. Phil
