  1. Is your mates gun the sniper Mitch and if so how many shots per fill.
  2. Last night my buddy and myself went to try the 007a as the 007s was going to be a wish list product BUT we found the unit was anything but ideal with sharp centre image which was about 20% of the screen, the remaining area was blurred so god knows what that was all about. Before anyone asks, we moved the 007 further away from the scope lens and tested on three other scopes, all were the same result ................................................ Another trip to the rfd today and swapped for the last 008 on the shelf. This is not my purchase but I felt the stress for him and at last now
  3. I have had a look today at a Crown but even my trade in at £900 tops leaves too much at this moment in time so it looks like it will stay in the cabinet. It is not that I want to get rid, it is more a thought process I am going through. I do like that Crown however. Phil
  4. The new 007s will not be here before Christmas according to the Sportsman.
  5. I think I was the first on here to get my beloved Impact fac and for 5 years it has been a cracking gun but earlier this year I took delivery of my Mk3 Wildcat .22 fc which has become my go-to gun. It is lighter than the Impact and the difference is very apparent when carrying it round, very quick to handle and of course accurate soooooooo I am now thinking of tweeking the power from 30fpe up to perhaps 45fpe which will then not get me down to sub 12 on the power wheel but just have a seperate sub 12 for when needed, or even sell the Impact and get the Sniper version Wildcat and take th
  6. My buddy has prepaid £450 so if you have some healthy dealings with your rfd, there is some profit to chip at and if I do buy one, I will not be paying more than £450........ Phil
  7. I believe my pal is going to use his tracer after testing an 007a last week which he was going to buy until he heard about the 007s. He uses an 008lrf most of the time but wanted the 007 to switch around instead of changing the 008. Having a seperate IR is not an issue as the trcer is both small and lightweight with a good range. Better charge up my Nitesite units Mitch ?? Phil
  8. Right final part to this little saga. We found that the better performnce was when we fitted the NV90 to my Hawke W/A s/f Vantage 4-16 x 50 fitted to my Tikka rimfire and the weaker being the Airmax Compact fitted on my Impact although there was little difference between any of them so we decided to go to a busy rabbit perm with the Impact/Airmax where there can be quite a number of bunnies to be found from 30mt out to 120mt. At 25 - 30mt, the image quality is not bad but extend it or increase magnifiction of the scope and the quality drops very quickly. This replacememnt unit cer
  9. I completely see where you are coming from Ian. The replacement arrived today so we popped it on my Impact with an Airmax Compact scope and there was a big improvement over the first unit BUT the first unit was so bad, anything would be better. Daylight colour is almost none coloured, not quite B&W but not far off. Once the NV90 was on the scope mount and clicked into it's locked position, it moves so not a good start. My buddy is not really interested in keeping it as Ian says it is not in the same league as his Pard units and he has the new 007s on order but to be fair, we a
  10. Looks like it is in need of some TLC so I would have said tops £120 - 135 but a shop would be giving you about £50 - 75 then you need to think about post cost. My rfd has taken two collections of guns in from people who sadly passed away and I have done some sorting of the guns which is why I have stated the prices above. Some of the guns have been top dollar though because of them being in tip top condition. Phil
  11. They will work a treat Jimmy. ll our static hides have top bars to rest the guns on and a shelf for coffee / smokes, the tv's are being installed next week ?. We are installing another hide this week in readiness for the all the leaves to have dropped off and then have some good pigeon shooting. Phil
  12. The replacement is due today so with luck we will test tonight. I must say however, Base have got one thing right, the superb spacer shims, 7 sets of various thicknesses which companies such as Pard could supply at such a low cost because to make up the scope diameter with tape is a bit heath robinson to say the least. Might be worth letting a guy have a look at them to see if he can produce them on his 3D printer. Phil
  13. Yes Mitch, my buddy got an email advising the unit was being sent on Friday so perhaps today or Monday so I will advise the outcome as soon as we have tested it, not holding my breath. My pal has ordered the new Pard 007s which should be here is about 10 days and I confess looking at the video, it looks spot on but as with all things, we will see. Phil
  14. Ours are very similar to Villaman's design but we use aluminium tube about 4 - 5 feet long which holds enough feed for approx 5 - 7 days depending how hungry they are and the top caps are .22 pellet tins which are a push fit and need replacing every year as they go rusty. No matter how intent the squirrels are, they cannot get into our feeders. Phil
  15. This can be a problem for women whose eye dominance can change through their lives and even revert back to where it was, this is a proven fact however it rarely affects men. I am right handed with right eye dominant so pretty well normal (some would not agree ?) but my wife does suffer with some dominance problems and having tried various things, she finds looking at the clay with both eyes open and closing the left eye just prior to pulling the trigger which all works well for her. A good friend of our has left eye dominance but right handed and after trying various aids to improve thin
  16. Thats me, shot more rabbits that way than holding the gun higher and thousands of rats that way, its surprising how stable it is.
  17. BUT THEY WORK MITCH DESPITE THE FACT YOU DON'T LIKE THEM ?
  18. I am wondering if the Airmax Compact is not an ideal scope for these add-on units in which case my Nitesite won't be going anywhere soon.
  19. Hawke Airmax Compact s/f 3-12 x44mm on two guns, Vantage w.a. s/f 4-16x50 and OUR Varmint
  20. Just seen footage on FB N8vision wher a guy has put his first vid using the NV90 Mitch, bloody good mate, if we had got that, an order for two more would have gone straight in to Optics Warehouse, I agree I do think it was a duff one. Fingers crossed that the replacement will be okay as this is going back on Monday but I think they are out of stock at the moment. Phil
  21. Pard are releasing a new 007s add-on which looks like a compact version so perhaps better for me but not keen on the price.......... Both 850 and 940nan models will be available. Pard NV007S 850nm Night Vision Rear Add On WWW.UTTINGS.CO.UK Pard NV007S 850nm Night Vision Rear Add On. The Pard NV007S takes the already brilliant NV007 platform and makes multiple improvements to further performance... Phil
  22. Well even with the built in IR, it is far better than the NV90 Mitch. One interesting thing was that My buddy has an Airmax s/f unlike my two Airmax Compact s/f scopes and the image is better on his scope than mine which also applies to the NV90 but still not good and the rticle is so soft.
  23. Yes I agree having seen a couple of youtube vids of the NV100, it does look really good. It is quite long and would require me to move the scope forward in order to get it in a comfortable position which I didn't want to do, so to maintain daylight shooting position of the scope.
  24. Well you have found a gun you like J so now just enjoy it. Phil
