I am going to look into getting a new shroud and a mod because the so called standard mod is rubbish even though I have added felt. I recall the tuning company that specialize in FX Impact fit their own mods and I would like to have a chat but cannot remember their name, someone help please. Phil

Thanks DB but I have had a word with my rfd who has some opened tins for me to try next week. The Super-H-Point are very similar to bis pest control which work well but both of the Hobby and H-Point look to have better leading profile than the Bisley Practice and Pest Control so worth getting some of each to test for short range ratting. Phil

Are Hobby the flat nose pellets. I did try some Bisley Pest Control yesterday as well which were decent and may use them for short range rats. Phil

Should be interesting as the US and SA don't use .177 much so we don't pick up the same level of info as we can with .22 .25 and .30 Phil

What are you going to try them in, I assume sub 12 Phil

One Piece Low Cost Mounts vs SM Two Piece
philpot replied to JakeFury's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Must admit I don't like one piece mounts and have used Sports Match many times with no issues at all plus they are much lighter. I cannot see why you want a one piece mount on an air rifle. Phil -
Really.............. I would not have expected you to say that Mitch, I have tested them in .177 and whilst I am a big fan of their rimfire ammo, the pellets were total sh1te but I am up for trying them, cheap as well. Phil

Yes I am with you there and if one does come out for these guns, I will be buying one. A bit more pellet testing today and to my amazement the JSB RS were just not doing the business which is a first for me, they did give good results but flyers were becoming common and this time I new it was not me feckin things up so a few more pellets from JSB and AA all of which were better groups than the RS pellet but the best of all were AA Field Heavy which produced 8mm group with 10 shots fired so tonights rat job will be with the AA Heavy and see what they are like on live quarry. I have

After losing my pouch with 3 mags in a couple of weeks ago, I have been thinking about a change of gun, not to replace my Impact but to run alongside for different jobs as I am not wildly happy with my .177 hw 110k, nothing wrong with the gun but I preferred my old .22 110k. Anyway, after some searching for an FX Verminator in .22 fac but the only one I could find was a Mk1 and a few years old at that, so time to think again. I went to the rfd today and decided that whilst I like the 110k with the black rubberised beech stock, I just fancied a change so here we go a 110k laminate. A quic

sub £150 Sf scope for dialling in ?
philpot replied to Kalibrgun's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Give Crawfords a call in Scunthorpe as he sells a fair few s/h scopes and not too far for you. tel 01724 846 000 Phil -
That just doesn'r make any sense at all. I have two nitesite units, viper and wolf r-tec, using on four rifles and NEVER have any changes to focus. I have used them on Hawke airmax s/f, airmax 30 compact s/f, vantage s/f and a couple of others plus several MTC scopes without issue. Simple operation bang on sharp and a system that works although joking apart I understand why Mitch doesn't like them buy everyone to their own. Phil

I just love bringing your favourite nv into the conversation Mitch. At least the 'niteshite' works in day or night unlike some others I can think of. In truth I would like a 007 but the one I had for a couple of weeks had a rubbish fit to the scope even with the shims, I hoped the new 007 would have an improved system instead of having to go and buy a mounting unit in order to make it actually work properly.
-
Very nice and better to be shorter if the scope remains in it's normal position. Not as good as a NiteSite Mitch but nevertheless nice ? ? Phil

With your help Jimmy I am sure he will come nicely mate.
-
It will have done you the world of good Jimmy to both get out and spend some time with Si, with luck I will pop over next time you are down so we can all have a chinwag mate. I see Jason has joined the band of brothers on here and started the road to poverty in the never ending obession to buy guns, welcome to our family Jason. Still thinking about that Verimator .22 fac I told you about Jimmy mind you I did look at a Wildcat .22 fac on Tuesday a Mk2 and it was really nice hmmmmmm Phil

Yes that may be the way I will have to go if I cannot get any metal ones at sensible prices, I bought some for my old .22 110k and they worked fine but I prefer metal. Phil

I was out last week after pigeon that have been hitting the rape so a session with the sub 12 hw110k to get them as they come into a sitty tree for a rest while they digest the crop, it was a pleasant couple of hours with 5 birds in the bag, my pal about the same. Now last night my shooting buddy borrowed my 110k to try as he has the 110 std and fancied a shorter lighter gun.................anyway, I looked all over the place but could olny find two mags and the little clear pouch with three more .177 mags was missing. I have checked every bag, shooting jacket and trousers but to no avail, th

You are very well place for clay grounds near you and to be honest if you go for one of the big three manufacturers, Bretta, Browning and Miroku, you will have a decent quality gun with a decent resale price. Phil

Have you tried asking on the Rapid7 forum. Phil

Prw900 lockdown tickle
philpot replied to Baldcoot's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Must admit that I did think about one of these in .22 as a dedicated ratter for a contract we just got as I think the .177 will just go straight through at closer range but cant afford another new hw110k more is the pity. I also heard these punch well above their price tag. Phil
