No, it is simply their prices. Phil

Not sure where they get the prices for s/h guns, quite often way over priced and the last place I would buy a gun from. Phil

Why the hell are you selling that Jon, it is a little cracker. If I have some cash I would have it.

Got A Phone Call From Pax Guns Yesterday
philpot replied to just-A-snap's topic in General Airgun Discussion
.25 Renos, now we are talking, I love mine although it is FAC but .25 is getting quite a following on another forum. Enjoy it mate. Phil -
Tonight was the last night of BTS until the nights draw in again around September time. It was a good night and managed to ring that bell quite a few times even managed to sneak a hit with an Air Arms PCP pistol...................pure luck but what the hell. We tried the food tonight at the White Hart Inn prior to popping the other room to shoot and what a meal, really nice food so that is one place we will be going back to just for the food.. My other half, Trish shot for the second time with a superb Hammerli PCP pistol which I strongly think is on the cards for her later this year.

Hi Tom, I don't know you but I'm sure we will be having some banter before long matey. Phil

With that sort of result, I guess the farmer will be happy for you two to shoot on his land more often. Phil

Well the election is over and Mitch is back........................................I think he was standing so been a busy of late. Nice to see you back mate. Phil

I was looking at the HFT shooting at the Northern Shooting Show a few weeks ago and saw a variety of guns being used. One chap I had a brief word with on this very subject said the Scorpion was a better bet but if you already own an Ultra, perhaps fitting a longer air cylinder would give you the shot count you needed. Airtech sell longer cylinders for not a lot of dosh. A reg fitted will also increase the shot count and maintain even pressure to the shots. http://www.airtechrifles.co.uk/services-prices/ Phil

Looking For Permissions South/west Wales
philpot replied to leon_w83's topic in General Airgun Discussion
I wish you lots of luck but it is unlikely that you will just get offers to shoot as we all have worked hard to get the land we have and taking an unknown chap on our perms is not something many people would do. That may sound harsh but the only way to get a perm is to use any and every contact you have in case they know a farmer, market gardener, horse stables etc etc etc. Try to find land which is being hit with crows or rats and offer to assist, it needs to be a great benefit to the owner that you are shooting on their land so find a reason they may give you a trial run. If you are luc -
The diopter sights are available from Air Arms and if you contact my RFD, Crawfords in Scunthorpe, he may have some in his 'bits' box. His number is 01724 846 000 and ask for Graham (the owner). Tell him that Phil Roberts suggested you call and that you are doing the bell target shooting with me. Phil

That is very nice of you John and I may well have a drive over and take you up on that offer. Can I ask, where do you normally buy your powder / shot from and which powder you you use. It is so long ago that I did reloading I cannot remember which powder I used although pretty sure it was Eley Nobel and CCI primers and Plaswads. Looking at the 'Clay and Game' site, I don't know any of the products but there again it was 30ish years ago. I had thought of asking them if I can go over and produce some shells to test at my cost of course. The worst they can say is 'no' so worth asking me t

Ah, Neil, I had forgotten you were on here as well matey, good on yer. I emailed Dave Carter a few days ago and whilst there are no more dates set at the moment, he has another pub interested in trying it out so we may have something in the pipeline soon. I want to have a look at your HW30 now with the diopter sights fitted. Have you tried it out very much since fitting them. As a side note, I was going to try to get Simon Everett better known as Accuspell on AGF to come along, until I heard of his very serious accident, he is in a bad way and hope he recovers soon. He and I were f

HW100 is as good as it gets in fact they are boringly accurate but a lump to walk around with but then again I am an ole tart. Air Arms 400 / 410 and BSA R10 are good guns but have the bolt action at the rear whereas the HW100 is a side lever which is TONS easier to cock and with a 14 shot mag...........................simply a better all round package. I have had a few shots with the HW110 today, lighter than the 100 but only 10 shot mag but still thinking of getting one for ratting, rather impressed with it to be honest although the mag insertion is a knack but I think that is nothing t

This close bunch of FRIENDS also known as the forum, never fail to put a smile on my face whenever I see another good will gesture from one friend to another. Good on yer Tom. Phil -
Sorry for the late response chaps. Having spent some time looking at the cost element of this matter and as already stated, there is no saving whatsoever. My thoughts were that if the cost of cartridges keeps going up at the current rate, then perhaps it is a worthwhile way to go however I would want a fast reloader and whilst the Pacific I had was really good, it was nowhere near as fast as the MEC rotatory system so thank you Snarepeg for your kind offer but it is not the type I want. I may well still go this route for the hell of it and to extend the hobby for those cold winter days

Go for it Rez, when the boys come round to see you, I will sit in for you because they will never give you a ticket if they see you Just have words with your perm owners to see if they have been contacted before to have firearms used on their land or ask if you can do so mate. If the land is already approved, no issue, no visit needed by the police as the grant for the land is on record. My perms already had approval so piece of cake. Get an FAC air slot as well while you are at it as that will have great appeal to you, then you can buy my Rapid 22 fac. Phil

I would go to your biggest clay ground and ask them to give you a price for bulk. Clay grounds can get through very large stocks of cartridges so a deal may be available. Worth asking. Phil

I think this is more than you want to spend Walshie but here is a link anyway. http://www.lureanglers.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=35328 Phil
