  5. I must have been 10 or there about's I had been begging for a ferret for ages, then one day my father brought home a lovely little kit with a cracking coat on her. I handle her before school and as soon as I got home. Got the board rubber thrown at me many times as I looked out the school window day dreaming of ferreting, just wanted to be out there. One day went to check up on her and she was gone I was frantic looking every where then I found her, my little sister had got her out dressed her up in dolls clothes and was pushing around in a dolls pram ferret was not bothered at. I was mighty
  6. When I was a youngster my father brought home a little poodle cross sky terrier, he had taken it off a bloke who was beating it in the pub. To say I was gutted was a massive under statement as I had been pleading to have a Jack Russell. All my mates had Jack Russell's or Fox Terriers, my father told me just him take him out and try it. Well I did take him out hoping none of my mates would see me, got to say the little fella took to it like a duck to water soon started marking in and flushing rabbits. After tilling up I could sit him one side of hedge I would sand on top of the hedge, he was go
  7. Same round here some really good ground burries ruined hedges dug out and the rabbit live in with them. I'm not risking the girls putting them in there. Cheers Arry
  8. when I was a youngster my father took a small poodle cross I think sky terrier off a bloke who was beating it in the pub and brought it home. Well to say I was gutted was an big under statement, all my mates had Jack Russell's or Fox Terriers. My father told me just to take him out, well I did but not with mates didn't want them to see me with this fluffy little thing. Turned out he was a great rabbiting dog or ratting, after tilling both sides of a hedge I could get him to sit one side and i would stand on top, had to pick the burries but he would hold them for me. He would mark or flush rabb
  9. I can't speak for the Mk2's but the Mk1's thats the grey rectangular box's play up around wire fences, sheets of wriggly tin scrap metal etc. Electric fences you pick up the click of the HT pulse. Try putting your collar on your lawn and test the distance to see if its reading right. As for the Mk2 Im sorry to say nobody seems to like them or has any thing good to say about them. Cheers Arry

  21. Good haul lads. We don't get numbers like that. Cheers Arry
  22. On reading you post again you say "under the depth wheel" are you talking about the on/off depth switch? If so, I think but not 100% sure they are 5000 Ohms as the only marking i can find on the switch is B5K. K = 1000 so 5K makes it 5000 ohms. this switch should have five legs. The ones you have marked 100R are 100 ohms. I have bought them of the guy on ebay fitted them and they work fine. Cheers Arry
  23. Vr1 and vr2 are usually blue in later boxes black and in the centre there is a slot for adjustment. They should have 2 legs in line and the middle 1 slightly off set a little so not quite in line. They are different values one of them is 100 ohms and should have two sets of numbers on it, one of the set should read 100. The other one will have 1m this means 1 ohm, So its 100 times less resistance. I bought 2 of each off Mallinson Electrical for less than £2. Cheers Arry
  24. recon its the most common fault with the mk1 , brought a few of my boxes back from the dead by fitting new on/off depth switch. A guy on ebay sells them. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ferret-Finder-on-off-depth-switch-Deben-Terrier-Locator-/252255043836 Cheers Arry
