Been a nightmare this year mate in the garden with these frost and now we are into May ffs. Had Runner beans fleeced down since March now 60mph winds forecast. So thought my beans might take off with that fleece acting like a sail, stripped it off put Micro Mesh on and cross my fingers. Cheers Arry

Your right Neal if I want to hear a Cuckoo I have to go up to Dartmoor they only seem to be on the high ground now. Bone hill rocks and the sandy track that go's under Bell Tor out towards Chinkwell tor above Widecombe is a good place to hear them. Cheers Arry

Try a Trailing Rosemary mate they grow fast and would look great in a pot. You would like this mate I have a bed of Garlic for the first time this year. Somebody gave me about a dozen different type to try and they seem to be doing well. I have Mint, Oregano, Chives, Borage, Thyme, Bay and the Trailing Rosemary. Also have a flat leaf Garlic Chive thats a good one GL. Dug out Parsley this week it was going to seed and to be honest I don't use it much. so will put a extra Cucumber in that space. Cheers Arry

Nice memories Keith nice area too. Great thinking back mate the family across the road used to have a couple of ponies and I used to rake around with them go riding. They would put me on a pony called Tuppence and every thing was great I was no jockey Lol. But off we would go down the lanes my mate on his and Tuppence beside each other. BUT if we met a Red Tractor and most were red back then that was it Tuppence would have none of it she would turn around and trot back to the farm and there was nothing I could do about it Lol. I'm being stalked by this cheeky bugger. I start walking up toward my green house and he starts to kick of chattering like a bloody Parrot. Not sure if he is telling me off or asking for grub. We have a lot of Jackdaws around here but not like him he's mental come on the feeders when I'm only five foot away. Now two Collared Doves think is alright for Jacky its alright for us Lol. Cheers Arry

So, Tell Us, What Are Ye All At In The Veg Garden?
Arry replied to JohnGalway's topic in Living Off The Land & Game Cooking
Well nothing is moving very fast these cool temperatures. Runners look like somebody is camping in the garden Lol. I think they look alright on the inside though. Spuds in tubs doing okay but they are dragged in the shed every night. Three row of different Little Gems ordinary Little Gem, Intred Gems and Moon Red Gems. Onion sets are away and Carrot just showing, just planted out some Beet root this morning. Fleecing Toms every bloody night and Cucumbers are taking over the bay window, they need to go out to the Green house and bigger pots. Perhaps n -
