Zoo! No need, today has top trumped any nature so far, we were supposed to do 3 hours to Ynez Valley, but we traveled about 40 miles as we spotted whales whilst sat at a red light for road works.. I was sure I saw a spout of water out to sea, I rarely watch the road anyway, heads on a swivel lol... said to the wife to look in the same direction and we both shouted when we saw a big jet of water and a back roll.. we spent the next 2 hours "lay-by hopping" and watching. The grey whales are migrating at the minute so that's what I think they were, could be humpback, but probably greys...the photo

A slight break through, someone suggested instead of meths or the stuff that came with my Birchwood Casey kit, use IPA so I tried it after removing the crappy result i got the other day. using the Phillip's cold blue, I got a better result, not good but better. I gave it another wipe with IPA then applied another coat of blue, better although the metal between the dovetail cutouts did not colour. I am leaving it until Friday / saturday and I will do it again but next time I may warm it up first as a test. Still not happy with it but we might just be heading the right direction. I a

I've not bought gold or silver for 6 months....I keep thinking it's too expensive.....then it keeps going up! Price rises never bothered me before as I bought small and regular over long term....but now even small is too much. Sovereigns are nearly a grand each! I wish I'd of spent all my savings on gold and silver 10 years ago. Id be absolutely minted by now. Buy gold and silver when possible and always keep a lump invested in lead to protect it.
