Didn’t the EU do the classic, straight out of your local villain playbook job on Greece a few years back ? Lent them a load of money they knew they couldn’t afford, then when shock horror they couldn’t afford to pay it back, lent them some more and then, amazingly, when they couldn’t pay that back went in the front door and demanded all the family jewels by way of utilities, industry, banking, anything of worth as payment ?……except those payments go on forever, they don’t hand them back when the debts settled ! They lock local lads off the plot up for that caper !
