The Non ped title given to whippets is confusing but as you said, their pedigrees are well known and documented, so other than the KC accepting the standard differences, I don't know what more you could ask for. Greyhounds are considered endangered by the KC, in the 5 lowest registered breeds, when thousands are bred yearly. When you say pedigree, it gives the impression of a 'pure' bred, a recognised breed. When any dog can come with a 3 or 5 generation (or more) pedigree. You could ask the same between many different breeds - the Labrador for example, being the most registered breed ag

Surely to be recognised as a breed in their own right would mean breeding true to a type, which means the diversity that makes them so appealing would be lost?

Distance to travel, but may not need the vet referral, just a bit of cheeky creeping, Westhaughton flapping track, Wigan, has a hydro pool for the greyhounds. Worth a shot perhaps.

Ironically, the TV license was so you wouldn't have adverts! The TV license was for the BBC channels, to fund better TV in brighter sunnier climates free from advertising. IF the BBC had breaks and adverts, we shouldn't need a license. Obviously that will never happen as it is now a good source of taxation... How did a media company get soo powerful?

It's a vicious circle. A dog like that needs to be socialised, but what could be just puppy boisterousness with no bad intent, is viewed as such, and who wants to socialise with the vicious dog? Media and such have given these dogs a status. People with little dogs sweeping up their dogs, mums dragging their kids across the street to avoid it. Pulling your own dog in a little tighter to avoid it. Sometimes the idiots are those that walk past and make assumptions.

Don't know about less, but have definitely been surprised at how early we saw pregnant does this year.

Why is there no middle ground? Some of these comments read you are either a hunter and therefore shouldn't be affected. And if you are, it's an animal rights vid, made to draw a response and you must be an anti. You don't have to be an anti to not like what you see and you don't need to be an activist to disagree with it.
