  1. A Wiganer - but no idea what this 'wrecking crew' sh!te is all about :S

  2. Just to add - if you own an illegal 'type' dog eg.pitbull, and your dog is registered on the register of exemption, that dog must be microchipped and tattooed along with other legal requirements. In that circumstance, a chip is considered legal proof of ownership and any change of residence over 30 days must also be registered.
  3. Must be true then Even rescues have certain laws they should abide by when handling a dog. To insinuate a dog means little because someone disagrees with chipping is just sad. So sad
  4. Microchips are NOT proof of ownership. The provide a method of identification, nothing more. So the Police broke the law then when they removed a border collie from it's owners when someone else claimed the dog was thiers A family adopted a BC from a rescue centre locally and it hadn't been scanned before it was adopted out, owner who had lost the dog just happened to see it in the park and called the Police, they took the dog to a vet who confirmed the chip details and the dog was returned to the original owner. The rescue centre also got a visit and a warning to scan every dog
  5. I hate to correct you, I would have hoped as a chipper you would know the law. A microchip does not prove ownership, just the details of who it was chipped to. All you own is the chip and it will not prevent a dog going through the 7 day system should it be picked up as a stray. There is no law that says all vets/dogwardens/rescues MUST scan for a chip, it is just considered good practice. All a microchip does is prove the identity of the dog - not the owner. Safe Pets. A dog can change hands easier than a car can, but proving ownership is harder. If your dog was picked u
  6. Gotta love it! I don't want to donate to a charity but I expect them to pick up my pieces.
  7. Lovely looking pups, real head turners.
  8. We swim, walk, bike, take in a few shows.....just enjoy the warmer weather together.
  9. My pup, deerhound/saluki/beddie mix was 20" @ 5 months and now seems to have stopped at 27" at 9 months. Well, I hope he has stopped.
  10. The Borzoi - everything just seemed to come naturally.
  11. So sorry for your loss Dave. I have one of the litter and he is a cracking dog, coming along really nicely. Such a shame
  12. I don't recall the last time I saw someone working a pure grey Let alone a proven history in the field. Surely, if adding speed to a cross is what you are looking for.....racing greys have to be keen or they wouldn't run - simple?
  13. Adore your kids. Actually quite fond of your whole family. Not to sure of the mother though Bloody immigrants!

  15. Silkens breed true!! If you are on the waiting list for a silken it will look like the pic I posted (but a different colour for those that seem to be struggling) If you are on the waiting list for a borzoi x whippet then thats a different matter. Also, which kennels are you visiting?
  16. yeah - try looking through the thread!!
  17. Dont critisize till youve actualy had experance of the breed. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/141419-first-time-ferreting/page__p__1432485__hl__borzoi__fromsearch__1#entry1432485 and yes it is a show dog too. reserve best bitch at blackpool 2010. simple fact is this .. lovly looking dogs no doubt but.. if they were well suited to hunting in the u/k plenty would have them .. hey guess what ,,, they dont !! Just because there are not many around used for hunting does not mean they are incapable. Just because salukis, greys, whippets are te
  18. Too many breeders breed for prolific coat IMO. It makes a big difference between the 2. There is a breeder in Wales that often crosses Borzoi with collies too. As for Silkens, they look lovely dogs, pocket size borzoi. If I remember rightly there are less than 10 in the UK, and not a recognised breed over here. That's a long waiting list and a high price silken windhounds. First cross Borzoi whippet wouldn't look like a silken as first crosses tend to be short coated. Silkens breed true so they could well be recognised before long over here too. I work and show m
  19. You're taking the piss!! Unfortunately, she hasn't been caught and hasn't been seen for quite some time now. I would like to thank Ian for use of the trap, Thank you Sir for all your help.
  20. Added to picking up the pieces is the mentality that that is what rescues are for, as if owners have a right to count on rescues to clear up for them. I wish some owners would show the same level of loyalty the dogs do. And being disgusted and horrified at images such as these.... Jack does not make a fluffy pet owners or an anti, nor a PETA supporter, but just how much is a dogs life worth to some? Why are many rescues against new owners working their dogs? Because they see all too often the aftermath when a dog is no longer of use. They watch the coming and going of new fads, hence
  21. Totally agree. 2 hours is way too much.
