Well mine are pets ... but being what they are, I learned quickly how to dispatch any game they caught. I actively encourage them to do it and I love nothing more than spending a day out with them, mooching about. It's ok to keep them as pets as long as they are kept fit and active. I do not agree with them being kept on the end of a lead and chastised for their prey drive. Not at all. If there is a chance that they will catch it's only right that you are prepared to deal with it - if for nothing than the sake of the prey which should be dispatched quickly and humanely if the dog hasn't d

There really isn't anything so heartbreaking as loosing a good young dog in an accident. It's a physical pain like a punch in the chest. Sympathy for your loss.

Very strange coz i was out on my own one night stashing my drugs when i heard some weird noises from the field next to the footpath i was on. Then all of a sudden this lass jumps over the fence closely followed by a lurcher type(god knows what they'd been up to at that time of night ). Anyhow, before i could say ought she shone a bloody big torch thing in me face, couldn't move coz she'd blinded me, then i heard a wailing scream, lights went out and could just make out in the darkness her and her dog legging it away from me. You do come across some strange folk down Lancs way don't you

its not just adult tv though is it, its on just about every soap from 7pm onwards, it should only be shown after the 9pm watershed, as for my kids , this may sound harsh but if im against something then thats it full stop. i may be old fashioned but i can say i live by my beliefs and dont change them to suit situations.that way i have nobody to blame for anything but myself. That's what I mean Paulus, after 7pm it's Nat Geo, Discovery, Eden or the Cartoon Network. They don't need to see that stuff.

Ya but when it comes to your kids Paulus you have to put their happiness before your own. We spend their entire lives putting them first. If they make an adult decision to love someone, if they are not hurting anyone ... well, that's them. I wouldn't like it, but I'd lump it if they were happy in themselves. I have gay friends - male and female. Doesn't bother me at all. It's not for me, and watching men kiss makes me really uncomfortable I must say. TV and media are forever broadcasting sexual stuff - straight and otherwise. Is it any wonder kids grow up these days hyper aware of i

cant you get dressed im sure there is some house work to be cracking on with..........lol..........hide Yes I could and yes there is. But there's nobody here to tell me when I have to do it. I love being my own boss Exactly ! Spray Mr Sheen by the front door - makes people think you've been cleaning. Well to be fair I've got a sitter coming tonight so I'll have a whip round with the hoover and polish. That's one of my Saturday jobs anyway. But I'll do it when I'm good and ready. I need to do a workout as well. After I make another brew

Wilf i hope its not rude to ask this......and ive only quoted your post because it rung a bell with me straight away, and from previous posts you sound like a pretty damn good parent to me !But a pal of mine recently went through the exact situation you mentioned......it took him near 2 years to even admit it to us and i could tell through knowing him years it absolutely broke his heart.......ive noticed small things over the months their relationship certainly seems different, ive spoke to him about it but he says its not.......but i can tell it is i think his pride is dented more than anything

My daughter had a tournament today Malt. Had to get up at 6.45am to the alarm to get ready and then it was cancelled. I'm feeling rather bitter about that On the upside, all the kids are outside playing in the snow whilst I'm sitting here in my dressing gown

Been non stop here since I got up yesterday morning. Didn't stick all day, but sure did over night. Winter wonderland, blowing drifts and still f-ing snowing, horizontal wind and cold as a mo-fo. Supposed to be going out tonight for the first time since New Year's

Didn't mean it to sound like he dosen't get out to play and stuff luke, it just dosen't sit right with me that a 7 yr old has the latest tablet /phone etc. I just think its extravagant for a 7 yr old thats all............I see parents buying their kids stuff just for the kudos themselves rather the practicality of something, not saying you are mind lukey. @paid.........yes I think a 3 year old getting a ipad is wrong but its up to any parent to buy or give their kids what they want, whether its right or wrong for them. Like I said its just my oponion thats all. My kids ask for a

Kids get a kick out of them. But I wouldn't spend a shed load on one for young kids - they're clumsy things . Androids are pretty good and the one I got does come in a bigger screen for a decent price, I'm just on a very tight budget. His runs flash player etc. When he opened that on his birthday he was so damn happy and I was instantly Mum of the Year so totally worth what I paid lol
-
I got my son an android for his 9th birthday. No way could I - or would I - pay for an ipad. I got him a 7" Quantum android tablet, cost me £74. He loves it I've locked it up so he can't go on line or to the play store without me there. Put movies and music in it as well. Makes him happy and keeps him occupied when I won't let him turn the tv on (which is 90% of the time) or it's pissing down rain outside. He doesn't need an all singing and dancing one anyway. One downside is a bit of a short battery life but that's not a big deal 'cause he's only allowed a certain amount of time on it anyway

Not something I even bothered about till I got my first car last year (many years over due but at least I did it ). I drive the kids to the next town for school and I have a map in my head for all the pot holes and sinking sewer grates. I could drive it blindfolded and avoid them - some of them are deep enough for paddling in on a rainy day. Still think the TV license is dafter but road tax comes a close second.

What would Mrs Whippet chose? Would she want to be home and closest to her nearest and dearest? Would she prefer to stay out of the way and not put stress on the family? You surely know her best; you do for her what she cannot now do for herself. I've made what I thought were hard decisions in the past but nothing that compares to making an end of life decision for someone you never wanted to live without. Very sorry for the circumstances you're in. Wishing you and your family peace and comfort.

I suppose anything relating to the Hamiltons if it's known ... David and Alice immigrated to Canada as I said, probably early 20's but I'll find out more about that. His brother Thomas and his wife was Martha I think. Thomas's kids as I mentioned in the first post. Anything that you trip over will be great, I'd be willing to bet there are still relations in the area. I don't know why David and Alice went to Canada but the rest of his family stayed. The house then was 83 Grace Ave., probably that was knocked down but maybe someone knows something about it. Cheers very much guys -
