    I know one thing for sure. I'd be running a 3ft high chicken wire along that a Harris fencing. Blinking chickens love sticking there heads through if there's grass or weeds about. Might have been an opportunist villain. OMO. JOK.

    Am making loads of different chutneys with the available produce. The guys at the local loving it. What I'm doing is picking all the courgettes at no more than 6 inch, runner beans as they get to about 9 inch and basically any other small produce. Makes a heck of a difference to the taste IMO. On the go, as we speak, is my first batch of piccalilli and an untried beetroot chutney. For the first time ever I've grown some cucumber plants which are looking amazing. Again good for the chutneys. All in all not bad. Jok.

    Yep, looks good. try a few chilli flakes in one or two jars. Also the turmeric can be increased. Sounds like you have all the ingredients for a right good piccali. Jok.

    Eh up gnipper. It's that time again pal. Piccalilli. If you have the vegetables then life is good. Virtually all the ingredients are there now for the picking except cauliflower (well not round here anyway). Having done my first batch of country chutney I'll get started on the pic and put up some pics and recipes. Jok.

    Lot of tosh. Get it down to your nearest dive centre for testing. It'll go through no bother. These tanks are virtually bullet proof and if you consider the environment they are used in, they need to be. Incidentally, your pillar valve and seals are not tested. Jok.

    Slightly off beam we drove from Dubai to Abu Dhabi in a landi. An eventful trip for sure, and although there wasn't a kebab at the end of it, we found a place, just over the Al Maktoum bridge, where we had a lovely pint of Usher Vaux bitter courtesy of some Dutch lads. Brilliant. Jok.

    The good , the bad and the ugly. My granddaughter loved it today as she had her wellies on. Weeding now a speciality. As you can see, sweet corn, courgettes , runner beans and large onions going well. Not so my leeks. Jok.

    Here we go again with our gardening problems. Put in my main plot of leeks , which, to be fair I use a lot of when making my pies. The dreaded Alium moth struck and I now know that there will be those horrible brown streaks the length of the bulb. So, off to Jacksons Nurseries of Clifton Campville and bought another 75 plants which look good. This morning I cleared a bed which had previously had onion sets . I know this might not be protocol but space is space. Fingers crossed. We had the Casablanca potatoes for dinner last night and unfortunately they were only good for , either, mash or roas

    Well. At last. Tonight we are eating a meal consisting Casablanca potatoe, runner beans, peas, baby carrots and broad beans. My courgettes are amazing and I have decided to crop each plant at no more than 6 inches. Just cropped 23 of same. I'm betting same each 3 days. Now then. Question. Freezing courgettes?? Does it work? Jok.

    Seahouses, Bamburgh, Beadnell round Beadnell bay and all the little hamlets sitting right there on the coast. Just off shore you have the Farne Islands ( round which I've dived many a time). Lindisfarne worth a trip. One of the best chippies in the land (excepting Magpie in Whitby as aforementioned) will be found in Seahouses. One of the loveliest theme pubs can be found right alongside the lifeboat station which is another place to see and whilst there chuck a few bob in the collection. Camping facilities, B&B and holiday lets are available. All in all a pretty good place to spend a few w

    Good question about the bendy pegs. Why ? They are very long and can't be much good on hard ground. Can't be better than a short hardwood peg. Just my opinion. Jok.

    Good luck with that idea ffs. I've one important suggestion. DEET. If you aren't covered on every inch of skin then you ain't gonna enjoy Scotland. Anywhere. The midges will boil your blood. Apart from that small detail, then anywhere is nice especially the Scottish Birders (where of course I come from). Get yourself camped up around Melrose (which has a renowned facility) enjoy the river Tweed, the Eildon hills and some of the best walking around. Next and most important, the pubs. Good beer, good company and good whatever takes your fancy. Jok.

    If you go on any diving website or Club site I should think you'll find one easy and yes they need testing, I think, as said, every 3 years. (Surely and compressed air tanks need testing as we'll take some point. J.A.T. Jok.
