  1. Who is she anyway? I try not to follow the media trivia
  2. Welcome mate. Modern locators have become pretty expensive now. In the late 70's we used to buy the collars for about £10 or £15 and use a small transistor radio set to near radio 1 :-). I just read on here somewhere that the Deben locators can be picked up with a cheap radio nowadays, although not that deep.

  4. Getting back to Trump, anyone who comes up with has got to be a joke, imo.
  5. No one person can possibly do this on their own and of course we know that all Government leaders have many layers of different kinds of help and advice. The scale is completely wrong too, I feel. One person as the leader 200 - 300 million (or more in the case of India and China, for example) is too much, especially when they are not qualified for the job in the first place.
  6. join the Labour Party mate they like speeches like that, but how ever that's the attitude that has Europe in the mess it's in today Well look what some single individual leaders have done to us - take Edward Heath as a good example. I don't know what the answer is, but the need to be ruled by one leader is imo, still a fundamentally flawed approach.
  7. I find it astonishing that human communities of millions of people feel the need to be 'ruled' by one person. Personally I believe it will be a sad day for the world if Trump makes it to US president. However that's just my opinion.
  8. % of halal meat is now pre-stunned these days, but shechita meat cannot be under Jewish rules. However I'd suggest dropping any references to religious slaughter for a petition like this.
  9. Yup - the first pigeon I ever shot. I had a knackered old .177 and I shot instinctively as it flew off. I was amazed that I hit and dropped it. I have also shot and killed a running rabbit with a sub 12 .22. Both these shots were when I was young - I wouldn't attempt to do it now.
  10. I agree with the sentiment here, although that article was written 4 years ago.
  11. There's no sound on VGA output, so you have to get the sound from the PC audio out sockets or the headphone jack. here's an example from a quick search: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Patuoxun-Adapter-Convertor-Converter-support/dp/B00K808RVQ

    The Missing

An article about it from 2009 : http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/the-missing-each-year-275000-britons-disappear-1801010.html
  13. Speak to Mike at dynachip, who, contrary to the name, offers remaps for many vehicles. He did a brilliant job on my disco3.
  14. An average modern car actually stops in about half that distance. And you're assuming in case of an accident the car in front is going to stop dead. I'm not advocating higher speed limits, just pointing out a fact. However you need to also consider things falling off the vehicle in front. Half an exhaust systems comes back pretty fast, especially if you are too close.
  15. As Slippery_Weasel says, there is two sorts. The main kind these days, whether on a satnav, or a standalone safety device, use the grid locations of all the fixed speed traps and the registered locations for mobile speed traps. These obviously need to be updated regularly and will give false positive results when you drive through mobile unit locations when often no-one is actually there using a mobile speed trap. The other kind, which are rarer nowadays, detect the signals put out by the different devices. I used to have a snooper that did this and it worked for all the different types of

    Europe Vote

I'd like to see a change in the way the EU works so that we can remain in for trade and commerce, and have some degree of unhindered travel within europe as long as it does not increase the risk of terrorism. Everything else should be our business. However I can't see that the Government would get us out of the EU even if there is a majority NO vote in the referendum.
  17. Yeah we used to send ours away and the money came back, I think up to £20 for a good one. I believe they ended up in Belgium. However one day the money went right down to practically nothing and it wasn't worth skinning them any more.

    Fox Meat

I was thinking about the animals and birds we don't usually eat the other day and realized that most of the animals we do eat, except some fish, are herbivorous. From what I've heard from people who've eaten seagulls, crows, foxes etc, carnivorous mammals and birds don't make good eating.
  19. IT infrastructure manager and part time farmer.
  20. I had a pair of motorbike ramps sent twice in the autumn worth about £ a set. I informed the vendor straight away, but a few days later I got a panic call from them asking me to ring. When I called, they said they'd sent a second set in error and would like to collect them. A few weeks later I bought a 5 in 1 motorized strimmer set and the motor unit was faulty. This vendor asked me just to send the motor section back, but they replaced it with a whole new set again, so I have one motor and two sets of everything else. I didn't bother informing this company about this as they messed me around

    Blue Cheese?

I love it, but I am not meant to eat cheese!
  22. Merry Christmas and a happy new year to all.
