Met my new hunting and fishing buddy yesterday for the first time hopefully be able to fetch him home tomorrow. Very proud moment.

p.s. dont get water from another pond to try and establish yours because u could transport potential water problems, disease and infections that way too.

fill it wi hose rex. as fox dropper says though make it splash as it goes in, i.e. trap your hose at the top edge of the pond pointing in rather than havin hose on bottom filling up if that makes sense. You can get an additive/treatment to put in your filter to give that a boost because that is where the important good bacterias and stuff are. Get ursen a couple test kits, one for ph and one for nitrates. about 5-10quid for kit and itll last 6months if regular testing longer if you only use it now and then. can I make a suggestion to you (both). when I built mine I ran a quick drain from the bottom of my filter with a 40mm inline gate valve to a local drain. this was one of the best things I did. soooooooo easy for cleaning and or draining/water change. simply open the gate valve and shut when your done. whilst you are building and the paths/patios are up etc it would be worth doing this imo. even if you just got the drain out the ground local for now. my old man didnt listen to me on his and as soon as he saw mine when it was finished he regretted not doing it. And the thing is once these dogs are fixed up and showed some affection they wont feel any prejudice and will likely genuinly love their new owners. just shows how they are better than humans! give me a dog anyday.

Bloke makes my skin crawl but respect anyone who can run 27 more marathons than me. Ive not done a marathon for years...since they changed to snickers! Id def be careful with the dogs if your wanting big koi...those two in first pic will look like breakfast if they go for a paddle! haha! totally agree with this. Number of times I have said that to misus. doesnt matter if you are sat with em, itll be over before you know whats happenin. would you not consider another westie? they will work aswell. I have two, the older one has calmed down now but the younger one has a huge prey drive. I have seen pics on here from a guy that works a westie aswell. -
Ive just watched the terrior bit. not the best bit of rat work Ive seen and think that was down to the cockny plonmer not the dogs. good to see someone trying to save a breed but on the flip side breeds die out for a reason. If they were brilliant at what they do then they wouldnt be let to die out.

I am doing a similar thing at the min, moxy had it right first time. if your after security Id go pyracanthas. However instead of hawthorn I am using black thorn for the sloe gin possibilities. I am also guna drop in a raspberry and blackberey cane. If I can harvest Im happy, what I cant will attract the wildlife so Im happy. Maybe drop a gooseberry in aswell? there is lots of fruiting options that offer security aswell because they evolved spikes to keep animals/people away from their fruit!

Its a long story but will give the short version... the night before I caught this I had a dream that I had a fish on in the dark in the edge and my fishin buddy couldnt net it and I was trying to tell him how to do it while playing the fish. I told him about this dream in full detail (plenty of time to kill through the day in france) and it happened nearly word for word that night!!! REALLLY freaky! word of warning, had pics with the fish and let it go, got head down for a few hours and when I woke up I had a really bad rash on my arms, sore and angry. took a couple of days to go down. no

Cheers il give that a go just had a read up sounds just what i need I will second snowfire mate. My knuckles and edges of fingers next to knuckles always crack an split. This stuff sorts it out. Swear by it.
