This is breathtaking.

I hadn’t realised a young lad died trying to get away from him. Sounds like a right weirdo horrible b*****d.
-
Just had the best meal over the festive, the traditional boxing day stuffing sandwich with brown sauce, washed down with 6 Celebrations.

RIP John Robertson. Didn’t see too much of him as I was too young but a gifted winger from a time when Nottingham Forest were kings of Europe and Scotland produced some real top drawer talent.

Merry Christmas one and all. Hope you have a lovely day with family and friends or whomever you choose to spend it with. Read this heart warming story this morning, restores a wee bit of faith in humanity in these times of self, self, self. Cardiff couple invited man in for Christmas, he stayed for 45 years WWW.BBC.CO.UK An arrangement Rob and Dianne Parsons thought would last a few days ended up changing their lives.

Some good points there. My view is that sport always will evolve and change. More often the drivers of change will be greed, but some visionaries have elevated sport to different levels and brought good things. Barry Hearn taking darts from relatively small dark halls to indoor arenas, and from the ‘best of order please’ silence on the throw, broken only by the coughs from the audience choking on cigarette smoke, to the raucous technicolour atmosphere that puts many a top flight football crowd to shame. Arab money though is different in my opinion. They have sh!t tons of it and virtually

Nutcases the whole fcuking lot of them. I think the tide is turning on this sh!te now, and credit should be given to this guy and everyone who has the guts to call it out…, and shame on all the wet wipe kow-towing politicians that let it get so fcuked up.

On the road to hell apparently. RIP

Not a movie but piece made about Chris Hoy’s cancer journey from diagnosis in 2023 till now. What an inspiration this guy is, not only to cancer sufferers. Well worth a watch. Sir Chris Hoy: Cancer, Courage and Me - BBC iPlayer WWW.BBC.CO.UK Sir Chris Hoy opens up about his journey with terminal cancer and how the mental strength he honed as a...

Just watched it having already seen the result. So AJ sold out. It looked as scripted as WWE.., reckon Joshua was told to try and make it look convincing the first 4, then he could close it out. Jake Paul never been or ever will be a boxer, and has all the stamina you’d expect of a blown up bodybuilder. Do I blame AJ for taking the money, maybe not, but I see this stuff as sh!tting on the sport that made him. So fcuk him, this can be his legacy…, and fcuk Eddie Hearn the circus ringmaster too, selling snake oil as sport. And fcuk Jake Paul, fcuking classless moron. Whilst I’m at it, fcuk th

Sea Eagles to be released onto the Isle of Wight...
pesky1972 replied to Bush Rummager's topic in General Talk
Three birds disappeared with some sat trackers cut off. Sea eagles are an incredible sight no doubt and I’d love to see more of them, but people seem to forget there is a reason they were hunted to extinction before. The release of these birds is the equivalent to some farms of releasing a fox into a chicken coop. Bordering on reckless if you don’t account for the impact of what’s being done. The video I posted in March details some of the extent of that impact. And no doubt ‘hunting’ will be in the frame as prime suspect in the disappearances. Disappearance of conservat -
Was out catching up with a few mates last weekend and the conversation inevitably turned to football. Most of the lads said they’d pretty much stopped watching the English prem, even though all still had a Sky sports subscription. We’re all similar age (early fifties) and would watch English football religiously in the 90’s, often in the pub (still have amazing memories of great games like the Liv-Newc 4-4 draw) and in later years (00’s) I’d still look forward to the games between the big 4/5/6 teams. I’d say the last few years I’ve lost almost all interest in the EPL. I don’t think it’s do

Probably did it for some sort of kudos on social media. In the olden days they’d have tarred and feathered them. How I’d love to see it brought back.

What did you dream? It’s alright, we told you what to dream. Half a century old!

Wouldn’t grumble if Littler got it. That GOAT debate will likely not be decided in my lifetime, and probably never will as it’s so subjective.., and any sportsman can only beat what’s in front of him. I don’t ever see a domination of darts in the same way Taylor did as I think the standard across the piece is greater and deeper than say it was in the 90’s.

I know it’s all woke garbage now, and it’ll no doubt be won by someone I’ve never heard of but here are the (3 female and 3 male obviously) nominees.., Hannah Hampton, Chloe Kelly, Ellie Kildunne, Luke Littler, Rory McIlroy and Lando Norris. Luke Littler’s achievements for one so young have been nothing short of incredible. World champion and No.1 ranked at only 18 years old! McIlroy finally winning the Masters to complete the slam, and the Ryder Cup away win means he’s had one of the best two years of his entire career. Norris came through in the end to overhaul his team mate a

When you get some random tune stuck in your head for no apparent reason. This morning it’s the theme from Terry and fcuking June! Why???

Or have a conversation that seems to be for the benefit of strangers round about.., as much as the people having it. My missus does it occasionally.., drives me up the wall.

Some pish, some truth. Anyway, things have changed. https://x.com/oneoutof4/status/1997729693416755579?s=46&t=VY4brBw2Zl3y1kklDlkEFg

Graduated to a BMX after my Grifter. Cheap one for Christmas from Marshall Ward catalogue if I remember…, and not like the more expensive burners or mongooses some of the other kids had. I remember the following year scraping money together to strip it down and going to buy all new parts for it. CW bars with mushroom grips, mx 2 finger brake levers with new cables and calipers, new saddle with a lay back post, white skyway wheels, beartrap pedals (still have the scars on my shins) foot pegs front and back and new black/silver chequered pads. It looked the absolute fcuking business (at least t

Go on very few work’s do’s now. I can’t be bothered getting absolutely shit-faced any more, and they’re generally intolerable things to attend unless you are. Been to some monumental ones in the past but will leave it to the young team now.

24th and back on the 5th. I like the wee break but that’s plenty. Started working late 80’s so only ever really known stat holidays for Christmas and New Year. A few older guys I’ve worked with have said it wasn’t always like that. They worked in factories on Christmas day for example…, and that Hogmanay/New Year was the big thing in Scotland, not Christmas. Rig workers would work rotas so the English lads would be home at Christmas and the Scots at home for the new year.

Born ‘72 so limited memories of the 70’s, but a really early memory is my old fella had this ancient works van with a crank handle. He was chuffed to bits when they gave him a green Morris van. My transport, apart from the hand built go-karts or ‘bogeys’ as we called them, I had the obligatory Raleigh bikes. First was a Boxer, then my brother’s old Commando (which got nicked) and lastly a Grifter. Last two had the three-speed gear hub, notorious for slipping in 2nd. Lost count of how many times the pedals would spin from under me as the little yellow flag on the twist grip told me I’d gone

Kept the group with Brazil open during pot 3 draw until Scotland came up.., what a fcuking shock! Actually not the worst draw for either Scotland or England.

Hell of a way to go. Probably since 9/11 the first thing I do if I stay at a high rise hotel/apartment block is find out where the fire exit is in case I have to get to it through a smoke filled corridor.
