  1. Widespread up here now. Certainly not critically endangered that’s for sure.
  2. Apparently Fury has offered 60/40 split. I think AJ has it all to prove and Fury has the belt and so it’s a fair enough offer.
  3. No offence meant, but I personally think Joshua should either fight Fury or retire. And if Fury doesn’t fight either Joshua or Usyk then he should stay retired. Usyk fight to all intents and purposes unifies the division, and AJ fight gives the fans the fight they all want. Anything less is a cop out.
  4. Refer to my previous point. “Waste his time”…, who else would you want to see Fury fight next (other than Usyk)? I simply want to see Fury v Joshua to settle any debate once and for all. Sick to death of the Insta/Twitter gobshite nonsense, which it has to be said comes mainly from Fury. Talk of Joshua needing to beat Wilder to prove he’s worthy of a match up with Fury is just petty fan boy nonsense. Talking of which, Max will no doubt be along in a minute to tell us again what Fury could do to AJ.
  5. Like most I always thought Wilder would come unstuck when he came up against a quality heavyweight.., which he did in Fury. Regardless of the belt he had, I don’t rate him higher than some names on AJ’s record. Just my opinion, and proves nothing regards Fury v Joshua.
  6. ‘Deserve’? Joshua well beaten twice by Usyk, but proved he was better than Ruiz in the rematch, but surely still in the handful of best HW’s in the world.., no? And other than Usyk, I wouldn’t pay to watch Fury fight anyone else…, would you? Take away all the fan boy stuff and ‘who’d beat who’ speculation, I believe Fury HAS to actually beat the best in the division to prove he’s the best. That’s now Usyk, but for a long time it was Joshua. Even with no belts on the line, the majority of UK boxing fans still want to see Fury and AJ matched to find out who actually wins. I think
  7. If Joshua wants a world belt this is his only credible option. Think Fury will rip the piss regarding any purse split, but Joshua needs to take what’s offered if he wants his shot at Fury, and to give the British boxing public what they’ve been crying out for. I’ll look forward to AJ’s response. Hopefully he won’t duck the chance like Fury did a few years ago. I think both fighters owe the public this fight.
  8. Fcking leech…, wins a million and it’s all, ‘aye we should defo get out for a beer pal’. ? Seriously though, that’s brilliant. Always makes me glad to hear of of people who deserve a bit luck, getting a decent lift on the lottery.

    Rip

A lad at work is big into MTB, and said he’d met him a few times and he was a very decent guy and an awesome talent. Just read his partner (Katie Archibald the gold medalling track cyclist) was in bed with him and tried in vain to save him. Terrible loss. RIP Rab. https://twitter.com/_katiearchibald/status/1562312232381419520?s=21&t=ksLB2xSc0zKBkcqpiHEsxA
  10. We won’t have to wait long imho. Vive la revolution ?
  11. Guess the whole bit about back-stabbing is that it’s done behind your back so you don’t know. Had a few instances where I suspect I’ve been removed from a situation because of my mouth, but never able to prove anything. Things have changed a lot in the 30 odd years I’ve been working. I remember guys rolling about on the floor settling ‘disagreements’…., nowadays it’d be instant dismissal if you even threatened to give someone a slap unless they wound their neck in. Seen or heard of a few lads losing long service jobs with pensions etc. because some (usually young) cnut made a complaint th
  12. If they’re working early/late and weekends then I’d say they’re worth it. I wouldn’t be working Friday and Saturday nights till midnight for less than that, would you? And if the station workers are on a lot less, taking the brunt of the public’s frustration at the rubbish overpriced service, and dealing with all the pissheads on a weekend, then I’d give them £40k too.
  13. I don’t know the details of their reasons for striking, but I’d guess it’s a well below inflation pay offer, wrapped in changes in working conditions. Give with one hand, take with the other. I don’t buy the media propaganda that it’s greed, and I respect anyone with the balls to stand up for what they think they’re worth. Good luck to them I say.
  14. I’ve only a vague idea what he did on a talent show years ago, no idea what he’s been up to in recent years. Never did me any harm, but he’s obviously wronged a few on here given some of the snide comments.
  15. I’ve just hit my half century, so now got a lot less of most things in front of me, than I have behind me. Although I get the occasional pang of nostalgia for my younger years, I wouldn’t want to go back and be a youngster coming up now. Quite content growing into a grumpy old barsteward, and feel in very good company here. Bunch of tossers.
  16. Sky will sack Souness…, then Carragher, Keane and Redknapp.., to be replaced by a load of box ticking homosexuals, BAMEs, trans-athletes…, none of which have been remotely near the elite level of football. Neville will survive the cut due to him being mentally retarded…, and Micah Richards too, despite being mentally retarded, but because he already ticks another box.
  17. Reckon I might get AJ v Usyk without moaning about the PPV price ? Be interesting to see what Joshua can come up with to try and turn it around. Thought he did well to learn from the Ruiz ko, in reverting to boxing to get the win. Think Usyk is a level above that, and don’t see Joshua outboxing him, or trying to. Hopefully Joshua can draw him into a brawl and land something to trouble Usyk. I won’t be betting my life savings on it though.
  18. Spot on. A match that I don’t think would ever have been made had it not been for their fathers history. I’d guess it’s a good earner for both fighters, but one that Eubank needs at this stage more than Benn? I don’t see anything but a comfortable Eubank win with potential for Benn to get hurt that might impact his career. Eubank says its lose-lose for him, and win-win for Benn, but not for me.
  19. I remember Hibs casuals (baby crew, so young teens) doing it in the 80’s, going into shops in big numbers and lifting piles of gear all at once before making off with it. The odd slow one got caught, but most got away. I always thought they were copying what the scousers were doing…, correct me if I’m wrong. Not a black face amongst them mind you, so at least back then they were our own petty thieves ?
  20. Not callous at all, just plain common sense. But it’s actually worse than that in my opinion. A whole industry has been created with dog rescues from outside the UK, which is every bit as bad if not worse than the puppy factories in Ireland etc. Sister in law got a wee dog from Romania earlier this year, proper bitsa-mix thing, with a terrible over bite. Other than a couple of photos, she never clapped eyes on it till she’d paid over £400 and it was dropped off by some dodgy looking cnut in a van. Thing is she genuinely thinks she’s saved this wee thing’s neck, whereas in reality she’s ju

    Wasps

You’ll love these guys…, tracking giant hornets back to the nest by gluing a streamer to one, then following it home with a drone.

    Wasps

Was at Perth races yesterday and there were hundreds of the little fcukers. Think it might be the worst year in a while for wasps ?
  23. Kettles and pots, leopards and spots. A fine return to form, turning threads into a bickering match, by one of THL’s finest. Fcukin tedious.
  24. Wildcat strikes on blue book sites up and down the country today. Reckon we’ll see more organised/coordinated action before long.
