I take your point..., but it's got fcuk all to do with this thread and the girl dying. Think it's a safe bet that Peaches had more money than me but she's now dead ..., and I'm older than she was and still here.

Your health is your wealth. I know if I had to choose to lose my health or my wealth which one I'd keep.

Why on earth would you find it 'insulting' that she'd committed suicide? Would you be less, or not insulted, if she was poor? It's no more tragic, only more news worthy. Not sure it was only Diana's death that led to news programmes filled with these rambling & gushing tributes to the departed, usually by people not even that close to the deceased, but probably the advent of 24 hour news broadcasting and a need to fill these programmes with something/anything. It's not only deaths..., take the disappearance of Malaysian jet..., in the first week or so after, news programmes 24 hours

As a pure boxing fan the York Hall is hard to beat for atmosphere.......as a fighter its near impossible to beat for atmosphere......but for casual fans and the football crowd who just want a sing song and a knees up its probably not the best venue as it only holds less than 1500 people..........the atmosphere is within the place itself, even the walk up the steps outside gets your pulse racing................part of the atmosphere as a fighter is that you are trying to live up to whats gone before you, within a mile of York Hall is at least 3 top pro gyms and 3 top amateur gyms so the area brea

Never been to the York Hall but it's definitely on my list of things I've gotta do before I die. It looks like a great venue, and a proper bear pit with the balcony. Think I'd much rather spend my cash watching a show like Prizefighter in the York Hall, than sitting 200 rows from ringside at Wembley watching Froch v Groves.

Love watching Ringside and loved this feature. It's usually a good watch and I think it's done a lot to raise the profile of boxing.

Amazing piece of engineering granted. Sadly much of it was built using cheap Eastern European labour as we have nowhere near enough skilled men in the UK any more to build something half this size. I think that's sad.. Who told you that shiteWhat shite? That much of it was built using foreign labour..., or that there isn't now a large enough skilled ship building indigenous workforce to tackle a project of this size?. Both I can really only talk about Rosyth, but from the outset there has been a substantial part of the workforce made up of foreign labour. That's not shite. That also kind o

Maybe, I couldn't say. But the technicians, engineers, scientists and project managers almost certainly won't have been cheap, foreign or second rate. You'd be surprised! A lot of 'skilled' positions filled by imported labour, certainly at Rosyth where the thing is being assembled.

You're right, far healthier than breakfast cereals.., which are almost all packed with sugar, even the ones you'd associate with 'healthy eating'! Keep feeding him a goose egg & a stack of toast like that...he'll make some lump of a boy...future prop forward?

Daylight for the 5 a.m. dog walk/run, the smell of barbeques, sitting out the back garden drinking until midnight after a long sunny day, the sound of lawn mowers, swifts screaming & hearing a blackie singing at dusk, leaving for work wearing a T-shirt, Sunday afternoon sessions in a beer garden...and the moment you laugh & say fcuk it I'll just take a sickie tomorrow, fly fishing for trout in the last hour of daylight when a rise comes on and your fly is working a treat, taking my kids camping, hill walking in the highlands with little or no clouds on the tops to spoil the views......

Some nice pics there Jay. The toad is a good one, although I can't look at it for too long... reminds me of her mother.

Anyone Else Bringing On Pup For Next Season?
pesky1972 replied to Sweeney's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Some fine & healthy looking pups so far... happy days ahead. A couple of mine...5½ months, about 21” -
Thanks Derek. Nothing fancy, just a 'lurcher type' to a collie/grey half cross.

Very true but the kill is what gives it the thrill!!! The chase is only going to end one of two ways escape or death simple as that and yes you are right the chase is a buzz but the kill is not just a byproduct, it's the required result! I personally don't like seeing loads of dogs on because the result is never as clean as it should be imo For me the catch is the thrill, rather than the kill. I know I’m probably splitting hairs, because once caught the kill is a fait accompli, but the point I’m making is that hunting is about much, much more than satisfying a need for ‘killing shit’.

A few more in B & W...

Out at first light but it was a filthy morning, blowing hard with low cloud & drizzle. Not much about so took a few photos of my 5 month old pup.

I for one don't 'like to kill shit'. I do it as quickly and efficiently as possible and without compunction as it's part and parcel of the sport I love, but it's not the reason I run dogs...it's not to satisfy some blood lust. If killing was the main objective, there are easier, cheaper, and less frustrating ways to do it than using dogs. I think that when we talk about sport it's because there is a 'competetive' element to running dogs against quarry which has some chance of escape. Your dog needs to run well to succeed, and that's where both the competition and satisfaction of 'winning'

Fcuking latinos...no sense of fair play at all. Look what they've done to 'the beautiful game' with all their play acting and rolling about. Killing is part of what we do but not the objective, not for me at least. Seeing your dog well matched and putting in a great run and catching is satisfaction, but missing a few makes it much sweeter. It shouldn't be that easy. Slipping eight dogs, some when the chase is well on, is no test for a dog and as good as no escape for the quarry. Useless Argie bastads!!

100% lab, I would have shot it or hit it ,or it it with what ever I could grab with my hands, the other dogs didn't do feck all did they ,? prob scared .Glad ive got a big dog like Buck,as bigger dog might bit more of chance than a smaller dog, but them wolves powerful feckers for any type dog One of the other dogs looks to be tethered and the other one looks young. Three loose & game adult dogs might have faired a bit better but who knows....wolves are big powerful fcukers. They're hunted in Canada so you'd expect they'd be fearful or at least keep their distance from towns. This

Last Couple Of Days Oooot And Abooooot..

Nice photos, nice dogs and a really nice bit of the country you've got there. You can feel the bite in the wind in some of those pics. -
Growing into a very nice looking dog.

Ah well, I suppose the bookies seldom get it wrong. Burns well outclassed in the end but stuck with it and gave it his all. Always knew he was a bit limited and he's done really well to get to where he has. Can't ask any more. Still some great fights for him at a domestic level, can't see him winning another world belt. Atmosphere was fantastic, pity it'll be the last we see of that for a while in Scotland. Roll on May 31st & Froch v Groves II

Most of the bookies have Burns about 2/1, even though he's going into his 10th world title fight and he's fighting in Glasgow. Anyone think he's got a chance? I've backed Burns to win on points. It's a sell out but my mate's confident he can still pull a couple of tickets out the hat for us. Hope so, it's a cracking card. 'mon the Rickster!!!!
