Mark William s you've only had 1 dog in 27 years and your away to take on a pointer .....if you think you are going to teach a head strong pointer to a decent level with out a bit of force then good luck .... I am not hard on my dogs apart from taking an interest in livestock and with some dogs they need to be severly chastised its all dependant on the dog.... the lad in the video done what he had to do and after doing so twice it seemed to work.....

Its a crakin beat Tiercel first beat on the North Esk so fish straight of the tide and every pool is fly water I strive to return all fish but a fish that has swallowed the fly and is bleeding at the gills will not return so whether it is a cock or hen I will keep it . We as fishermen have to try and do everything possible to try and help the salmon numbers as everything from polution over fishing in Greenland and here & predation has dwindled salmon numbers . Went out last night for a stalk as there is a single antlered buck I need to catch up with .....stopped of at the river and saw a few fish moving so decided that the buck will still be there tomorrow but the salmon might not sop headed back and picked up the single hander and all the gear and went for a cast ....went through the pool and never got a touch ...just as I was about to head down stream I heard the splash of a fish behind me ...went back to the top of the pool and put out a short line across a lie I know about and fourth cast with the wee black francis again I was in . This will make you green with envy HM ...Headed back out and saw a decent sea trout at the tail of a pool cast a muddler over it and it had a go at it twice ...then headed up to our top pool called Allans where I had my grilse earlier .....same again fast intermediate and a wee black francis ....had a crakin take after a few casts and new I was into something decent ...what a fight on the single hander down to the backing 4 times ....couldn't give it too much as I only had 10lb line on ....after a 20 minute fight my personal ghillie had it in the net ....18lb bar of silver ..3 fish for the da

headed up to the top pool at the head of the beat and changed to a fast intermediate with the same fly and got a crakin take that I thought was a sea troot the way it was running ....a wee grilse straight out the sea heading away back out for another craic

Out this morning the river is bang on ...clearing and dropping.......throw a wee 12 black francis on a full floater across a pool and got into a crackin 12 pounder covered in sea lice .

Let me know how you get on Ive got the river all week but we had rain on the hill yesterday so the water was too coloured today ....but its been clearing all day so will get out the rest of the week

Out on Monday first thing lost a fish on my second cast then landed this crackin bar of silver straight of the tide on a wee black 14 francis ....lost a few fish and was speaking to the netsmen who say that there are some really well made sea trout going about around the 2kg mark so will be out most evenings & hopefully get into one of them

I dont know about that imo its good to see a youngster search places as its all part of learning ....and can you really trust an inexperienced Terrier unless its search every inch ?

no idea mate as i said its not mine, but being deaf its fine as long as it can see your hand signals but once off through the hedge after a pricked bird it becomes a problem unless it finds quickly, that went right over the top of your head

that pretty much says it all when it comes to working plummers ...I knew this would be a short thread -
I was in place called Vhecta in Germany in 2007 ...Great place great people I was very surpised what good craic the Germans were . I was in South Africa a fair bit from 2004 -2005 a place called mossil bay once again a great place realy beatifull country and I realy thought about moving there very cheap in those days but there are very few places in the world that are cheap now but its very dangerous and I have worked with a lot of SA over the year and they say the country is fuked now . I want to retire in Vietnam ...but I will keep my reasons to myself
