  1. didn't think you would be an ABBA fan big fella
  2. Had some great sport on the 6' #3 rod with the finnock loads about over the pound mark and great seeing them chase the fly in the clear water
  3. Still not manged to hook a springer yet this season as the water has been to high on our lower beats allowing the fish to progress to beats further up stream ....most of the snow melt has gone just small drifts in the back corries . heres a few fish from 2013 season the worst I have seen due to the driest conditions I can remember ....you had to stealth fish with light tackle and small flies as the fish were very easy spooked still manged to get 20 but nothing big and loads of very small grilse just above the pound mark .
  4. I find it funny when lads say such and such a quarry is easy ...even .the humble rabbit isnt easy if you do enough of them on the right ground
  5. We have a close season up here so I would watch what you wish for lads its not all good and I know the reason the the close season came about but that story is not for this site.
  6. cant believe you cant source penicilin especialy in Eire
  7. All my kennel living quarters are lined with king span and beds raised of the deck with plenty of bedding and a tarpolin flap over the entrance and the lurchers have jackets on when the temp drops ....the main thing is there boxes are dry and draft free...I use the bedding made out of tea bag paper it seems to do the job...nothing to do with going soft socks just you giving your tykes what they deserve
  8. My foxing outfit brno fox .222 with 8x 56 schmitt & bender wildcat 8 mod ....going to put an ase ultra sl on it
  9. always one dick......... Thats plenty from you clipo ....fanny boy Jim will know what I mean
  10. never bother with spey lines now its shooting heads all the way ....ive got an airflow set up on the 11.5 switch rod which I use more than most with the size of our beat ive got the mckenzie on the 13 footer which is some line and a skandi set up on the big rod ....still to catch a springer this season though .
  11. WILF will you answer your phone ya fanny
  12. Hunting supermarkets ....is that code for gay bars ?
  13. WHY is that the best way to learn ?....what a lot of shite min
  14. no what im saying its like anything you will be better at something if you use better equipment
  15. so if the caster presents the fly to which I agree what would make a better presentation a cheap fly line or a more expensive line?....its like anything better golf clubs will make a golfer play a better shot but its his swing that is important ....
  16. BGWM I don't fish the ponds as much as I used to but when I do I only enjoy fishing dries and never go above 6lb if theres a good ripple but mostly fish 4lb floro as I fish very small stuff ...I have lost count how many double figure stockies I have landed over the years on this light tackle ..the reasons I fish light is imo your leader presentation is very important you can match the hatch perfectly but if the fish see your leader they wont strike ....the fun factor in using light tackle ...and the type of fish meaning that you can get away with light tackle on ponds as the fish allow this
  17. I disagree with you tiercel regarding WF.lines .......I use a 6 ft braided leader cut off the loop on the thick end whip that to the fly line and very rarely use less that 9-10ft fluorocarbon leader and even with the smallest of 18 drys it will turn over and present as good as any dt line
  18. the fly line has nothing to do with how you play the fish and landing a 15lb fish on 6lb leader says more about the fish than anything else and I stand by what I say they cheap lines don't cut it ...not for me any way ....
  19. some fight of this lad on the light tackle
  20. have to disagree with hot meat ....its like anything else you get what you pay for ....The airflow ridge lines are good and I have used them for a few years now after trying pretty much every line ther e is ...my dry set up I have a WF6 ON A 9ft ....I have a 6ft #3-4 rod that I use on small rivers with a ridgeline clear that I have had some decent grilse on ...some fight on a small set up
  21. never heard of a dog being ruined by being held back
