  1. Where in Kent, I am looking for some more
  2. Sorry to hear that mate, I have no idea how I ever managed without one now and it's only been a week !
  3. Well said that man, they are worth good money to the right person, I do a lot on a large and influential posh estate and I wouldn't mind betting they would pay a oner each for something like them
  4. Was £60 here about 3 weeks ago, dropped again since then.
  5. I think that's good on the basis that if you are out collecting scrap there is more about for your to find as less people will be scrapping like when prices are sky high, but all time low would be around five to ten pound per ton like if was back in 2000 ish, also the iron grids would be classed as heavy so price always pays better than light stuff, I use emr aswell and there prices are always the best Really, think about it, you see the p***y vans going round, old rolls of wire, the odd oven, bike wheels, usual shit we all throw out for them, then think how much that actually weighs, I can te
  6. I kept a lot of quail a few years back, males fight, bonk girls silly sometimes, even the girls fight if you introduce new ones in as they are very territorial, but once you know the do's and donuts they are easy to keep and get very friendly, I used to enjoy keeping them and may start again soon
  7. £40 a ton in my local EMR yard
  8. Scrap is at an all time terrible low around here, guess yours will be the same, so I would either hang onto them, or trickle them into the market slowly, couple at a time on eBay and put a note you have more available. Had you been nearer to me I would have made you an offer on the lot, but haulage would most likely kill it. Out of interest, what sort of money you looking for, and any idea what they weigh ?
  9. Thanks Devon fighter, that's the sort of rest I am looking at having, I see a firm called sol way feeders do a rest that has a fitting for a cluson la2 lamp, but it's a fair price ! My plan is to fabricate something similar from either steel or ally and use pipe lagging, I need to leave enough room on the front rack for a large box to chuck rabbits in, and a dog box on the rear rack to carry a lab. Hey rich, how you getting on with the knee mate ? Hope your a bit more mobile now, yes I remember your quad well, ideal for what you do, but wouldn't suit what I need, I need some sort of carry
  10. How did things go with your new bike mate??Got it on Friday, went out Friday night just using a hand lamp, it makes life so much easier, and it is an excellent bike, so far !
  11. No one done any mods to a quad for lamping ?
  12. Wire brush is the cheapest but most laborious, how much spare time you got ? You can use a brush in a drill or grinder, a bit easier, but personally for a good job would be shot blast and spray, depends how good a job you want, how much you wanna pay, and how much spare time you have really.
  13. As per another post I made, I have now bought my new fox and rabbit toy, it's a Honda trx500fm, what do you guys use for lamps on them, gun racks etc etc, it will be used mostly for limping, so need a good permanent setup on it, I would like to see out to 250 yards (ish) with red filter, I don't mind having anything fabricated if needs be, what works and what don't. Also need to look at some sort of rifle holder(with large moderator and scope). It's a road legal quad, and some road work between fields will be getting done so need to stay legal as well.
  14. Bit the bullet, got a 12mnth old trx500fm on its way in the next day or so, ex demo with less than a 100 mile on the clock
  15. You get first fix and second fix nailers, the first fix fire bigger nails and leave "teeth" marks, second fix fire much smaller nails and have a soft rubber tip so no marks on door frames etc
  16. My mate has one, it took some setting up, but he turns out some pretty good planks now he got the hang of it, it's a fairly fit mans game though
  17. Paslode, I just got shot of my dewalt, kept jamming, Paslode walks all over it so it went on eBay
  18. Lucky bugger, something I always fancied, you gotta love the spits, they just look and sound awesome, always been a fan of them, along with the lancs
  19. That looks a nice spot for a pond with good flight lines, as others have said a little wider would not hurt, if it's a new dug pond then give it a chance to settle, keep disturbance to a minimum, certainly in the evening, only visit/feed during day times for a start, keep people and dogs away from it. Food + water will = duck, once they find it and you keep the food going in they will be there in numbers. You have a lake nearby, is it fed ? Or shot ? I would have expected duck on yours pretty easy if I am honest without the need for callers, but as a last resort call ducks will bring them in,
  20. Also make sure you have a good flight line into the pond, you want a shallow part to feed them, start off small, only feed what is been eaten, they will start to come in numbers and you need to up the feed, water + food = ducks. I have fed some ponds where you think no chance of duck, and ended up with 200+ ducks coming in every evening
  21. Exactly the sort of setup I am looking at, but lab instead of lurcher
  22. Interesting reading, I am looking for a road legal quad this week, I was looking at all makes and brands, sizes, but think I had decided to stick with Honda. Any reviews on the trx500 or the trx420 ?
  23. I promise to be quieter if there is a next time ! How's the knee
  24. Good man, even if they never take it up, it shows that its a lot more about enjoying the country, uses your senses, and the food chain, plus a million other points. I don't encourage townies out normally cos they a pain in the arse usually, but someone with more patience than me needs to do it !
  25. Interesting as these are the two motors I am looking at now.
