  1. Really pleased for you mate, just take it easy and let nature take its course, worked for me, may be worth keeping a few rimadyl handy as they really helped my old girl
  2. Can you post any pics of it, or email, and would you look at sale rather than swap ?
  3. Another thing some do wrong, is trying to cut from the outside, you need an incision, then run the knife down under the skin and cut in an outwards direction if that makes sense, that way you are cutting skin first then through the fur, very similiar as a deer gralloch but on a much smaller scale (check the videos available)but agreed the knife needs to be sharp, and I find a good point really helps to make the first incision, after that pretty much any knife will do the job.
  4. I have fished for blues a fair bit, good fun, but porgies and threshers are the one to go after, they are out there, just not as common as the blues
  5. Sorry to hear that, not good news, I don't have a springer, but I have a mastiff x Dane who damaged hers when she decided it was a good idea to try and run a fallow down, we were advised operation was the only way forward, but when we looked into it she would certainly never run again, and would need a lead life, also the chances of the op succeeding at all were not in her favour, so we went for the rest and recoup option as vet recommended the same odds as an op either way, happy to say she is almost like she was, no major hikes or runs now, and she gets a bit light on it if she over does thi

  7. Am on the lookout for a new truck, mainly for work, but also lugging feed and feeders about, dogs etc etc, at the mo the Toyota hilux crew cab is featuring high on the list, anything to look out for, any better suggestions, and anyone know of a low mileage one for sale. Needs to be crew cab for work. Prefer to have canopy to keep tools safer, and dogs in. Must be 4wd Diesel Budget upto 12k ish, maybe more for the right motor I don't like the navara's, something about the l200 puts me off them, I have looked at the cheaper option of ranger, but they seem almost disposable motors now
  8. This was my first one (soon to be up for sale) Then I had this leeward 18 (soon to be up for sale) And this is my latest one, (soon to be on the water)
  9. I hope to god that's America or some place, please tell me the English are not that stupid !
  10. Interesting hearing some of your views. I used to run a 17 foot dory, and I have often been 20+ miles out, as has been mentioned, get the weather right and its perfectly safe, I also know a guy who thinks nothing of 60+ miles in oz for getting to the right ground to fish. IMO, the further off wrecks provide bigger fish, not always more, most inshore wrecks are overfished as they are within easy reach of most boats and pleasure anglers, occasionally I find a mark close in that seems undiscovered and will fish its nuts off, but not very often, again it depends on what part of the country you a
  11. I got no 11 though this morning, amazing, lovely work of art and as sharp as a razor, almost too nice to use it, thanks
  12. Not all block and beam floors are 7n, some are only 3.6n either way those blocks will not be insulated, but are suitable for building with depending on the use, 7n are often used to bring footings up below ground as they are a load bearing block. If you are planning to use the outside above ground then they will either need sealing or rendering. Not a cheap block to buy now, I am paying around £7 a m2 and that's cheap compared to some places
  13. 60- is not a bad figure to work on, but as you say, it depends on a few things, what's there now, edgings, access, drainage.
  14. Was you not selling one a little while back ?
  15. Sorry Phill, no pressure intended, but it was such an excellent time I just had to put a write up, the joys of shooting, who knows what the day will bring.
  16. A good shot.....well coming from you I will take that as a compliment, thanks.
  17. Not looking for a stalking knife by chance ..... :whistling:....did you see the knives for sale , number 10 would do you a treat ......but I just bought it   As it happens a stalking knife was on my mind, I have a small fetish for quality knives as well ! Where are the ones for sale then as I have not sniffed them out yet
  18. Hi, I just found this thread by accident, some stunning looking work you have turned out, I am in the market for a good but working knife, do you do many custom jobs ?
  19. He did not ask me for a single penny, he donated his time and everything that went with it for a good cause in an auction, I was lucky enough to be the winning bidder. You would need to speak to him directly to see if he offers guided stalking.
