Also, why aren't the Arab countries doing more to tidy up their own back yard ? Next door to Iraq is Saudi Arabia, a country of almost infinite wealth, and considerable military capability, who seem quite happy to see chaos on their own doorstep ! Maybe even the Iranians should be concerned - after all, IS makes the Tehran regime look like a bunch of pinko Liberals ! Do they imagine that, if IS takes any kind of control of Iraq, that their orders will be "Well, we've conquered Iraq - we'll probably leave it at that then lads !"

I see 'moderate' Muslim leaders on TV, expressing their horror for their compatriots' latest crimes, and stating how pleased they are to live in a free country, and pleading for better integration, and so on, but I often wonder this..... If the very highest Muslim clerics ordered ALL their followers to turn against 'the infidels' (as the Koran demands), where would their loyalties really lie ..........? (Can I say here and now that I think I know the answer !)

I'd go with the disease option, but I don't think it will wipe us out, just seriously reduce our numbers. Imagine the ebola outbreak in a country where more people are wealthy enough to travel ........................... ........either that or the living dead !

There are so many films and TV series recently that portray the downfall of mankind in a 'post-apocalyptic landscape', where rag-tag bands of survivors struggle against insurmountable odds. You know the sort of thing - 'Revolution', 'The Walking Dead', 'The 100', to name just 3 ! So, what do you think will really bring about Man's demise? Disease ? Food shortages ? Religious wars ? Wore mine from the day we got married, 14 years ago. Over the years, I've 'got a bit bigger' and the ring got tighter and tighter, 'til I had to cut it off with the Dremmel ! Went to the jewellers, and I've gone from a size T to a Z+2 ! Got to have one specially ordered to fit me, so no chance ! (Sadly, it's only my hands that have got bigger !)

Everyone seems agreed that extremism is de-stabilizing the Middle East as a whole, as well posing a credible threat to the West. We bought one off Amazon, for the Mastiff X. She'd bark at any little sound she heard, day or night ,to the point that the neighbour spoke to me about it. Voices, car doors, pretty much anything would set her off - you know that ' alarm - raising' bark ! The collar cured her inside 2 days, but I have to be at pains to point out that we only used it as an aid to stop her once she'd started barking, to break her out of 'the zone' - NEVER as a punishment !
