  1. If you shoot them with a bow, I'm guessing they're not the prized specimen quarry they are over here..........?
  2. Why would you call an ambulance to a dead squirrel ? Now if it had hurt it's wickle leggy-weggy........
  3. I think we need to take into account they never had the type of illness in them days that we have today , Convenient Dementia is a modern day illness that seems to attack people of high standing that would normally relish there day in court to clear their name ...& luckily other fine upstanding members of the establishment have recognised this illness & given there full support to the poor sufferers to save them further upset .. I see your point. Its a bit like Ernest Saunders, of the so-called "Guinness Four" - remember him ? Convicted of serious fraud and manipulation of sh
  4. Yet CaMoron still can't get a poll lead over him........!
  5. Was it Mark Twain who said that "anyone who wants to be a politician should be banned from doing so".............?
  6. Wouldn't be fake if she had her way........

  9. Fishing catty ? I thought you meant something like spear fishing with a slingbow ! That's got me thinking now............
  10. In 2011, John Demjanjuk was convicted of complicity in atrocities, committed during the Second World War. At the time, Lord Janner said (quote), "Today's verdict sends an unequivocal message: that the passage of time is no barrier to justice. Age or poor health cannot absolve anyone of appalling crimes" (end quote) I rest my case, your Honour.........
  11. You know your dog better than any vet ever will, so it's solely down to you to make the right decision, I'm afraid. As has already been said, don't let your emotions or sentiments cloud your judgement. Best wishes, either way mate.
  12. "Those who fail to learn the mistakes of history are doomed to repeat them."
  13. Nice shooting , buddy. Good to see you back in form !!
  14. If you get it wrong, she'll never forgive you, and you can bet she'll bring it up every time you have a row......and you'll have the wold and his missus recording you, so any mistakes will haunt the rest of your days ! No pressure, then !
  15. If you go around firing guns, don't expect the kid gloves ! I'm sure the bleating masses will scream "Police Brutality", have a bit of a riot and demand the death penalty, when the officer is found to have acted reasonably - isn't that the way it usually goes ?
  16. You take it all the way up the proximal phalanx !? Is that legal over there, then ?
  17. We're lucky enough to have a door between the living room and the front door - ours go mental at the letter box, despite every effort to teach them otherwise, so I have some sympathy for the owner. Having said that, dogs (big or small), can't be allowed to bite. As an owner, I wouldn't be happy keeping a dog that had injured someone in innocent circumstances.
  18. Never heard that story. f***ing amazing. I will be doing some research into him. Many thanks.I think it's a terrible shame that he travelled with people remembered as heroes, yet he is largely unknown. He was a truly remarkable man ! Joining the Navy at 15 (a really tough life in those days!) probably stood him in good stead. He spent months drifting on pack ice, survived an 800 mile journey in an open life boat and was one of the first people to cross South Georgia on foot, despite having no mountaineering or navigation equipment!! If you ever find yourself in County Kerry, there's
  19. Tom Crean - you've probably never heard of him, but that's him in my avatar. There are many tales of his heroism -he travelled to the Antarctic twice with Shackleton - but the best known is from Scott's ill-fated Terra Nova expedition of 1912.... He was in the final support group that left Scott et al to continue the last 170 miles to the South Pole. En route back to base, some 700 miles (!), Edward Evans began to suffer from scurvy and was struck by snow blindness. Crean and Lashley hauled him on a sled as long as they could, but as the days passed, they fell further and further behin
  20. Welcome to THL ! You'll find all the knowledge you need here. The falconry section awaits you.........
  21. As long as no innocents were harmed, who cares ?
  22. The T-in-the-Park music festival, in Tayside, is under threat, due to a pair of ospreys nesting on the site. If the chicks don't fledge in time, the whole festival will have to be cancelled, so as not to disturb the birds, costing the local economy an estimated £40 million. The EA recently spent £135,000 to trap, store and 'rehome' 55 water voles, while dredging, to prevent flooding, was carried out on the Somerset Levels. (almost £2,500 per vole - I'm definitely in the wrong business !) Proposals for a £40 billion tidal barrage on the Severn were dropped following objections by RSPB..
  23. It's the same here, mate ! If I have to eat another sheep's afterbirth............
  24. Around the time Pierce Brosnan got the job, Colin Salmon was said to have been in with a shout, and I think he would have done a good Bond - maybe they've already missed their opportunity for a while ? They'd need a black actor that's experienced, but isn't already associated with another role....... The growing campaign for a female Bond is being led by Ed Millipede - the fact that he wants a character called James to be a woman doesn't fill you with hope, does it ? Black,British, female muslim Bond ? That should narrow the selection process a bit.......
