But, as most of the time I was using the the .243 I sold it ,run that 58 gr hornaday through it for a while for fox but then ended up shooting every thing with the 100 gr .Then last year I had a clear out & now shoot every thing with the 6.5 ...
  4. My advise would be spend every penny you can muster on a quality scope ...all the add on's can come later.

  12. I was over my brothers place in spain last year and his little terrier grabbed a toad , the dog was dead 15 min later ... turned out to be a cane toad,by all accounts big dogs can get over it but his little terrier died on the way to the vets . Apparently there quite common over there where he lives in javea. . Needless to say they have a daily walkround on the lookout for them .

  14. I mentored a friend of mine , he did a spread sheet of all our outings , he logged all we see , why we shot , why we never shot , what we shot .What we did after the shot , etc etc . The firearms debt were that impressed with his portfolio he got his open ticket in 12 months.I might add he is a senior pilot & absorbs information like blotting paper, but his presentation was unbelievable & any firearms dept would have had a difficult job turning down his application ....it can be done with the right approach . The quickest I've ever had dealings with ..

    One Dog ?

Lakeland for me ...had a couple, great little dogs ,big heart ,working brain .Could have taken one stalking had I been bright enough to realise her potencial , had a great nose . The minute a rat moved onto our place (we lived close to a chicken rearing shed) them dogs wouldn't stop till they got it , they dug a few tidy sized holes .

  17. If some one was to trip over them wires there could be a major claim ,health & safety and all that ....nice to see thames valley have time & money to waste on non events .What a load rollocks
  18. I was thinking you would be moving them just before you cut , the day before as Lab said would be to early . We don't have many roe on the farms I stalk down here & its sad to see them get killed like this .One of my farmers had a bar fitted with sections of chain hanging down so as he cut the chains touched the deer and they moved , at least enough for him to see them , worked good on the fallow but some of the roe just tucked down even more .
  19. What ever you do will be better than the cutter going over them , personally id move them to the edge of the field in cover , the doe will find them when she returns .good luck
  20. I think i'd buy a new CZ ,you know even when its 20 years old, been used & abused filled with dirt , grease , & shite its still worth the thick end of £400 ....says it all
  21. You can move them BUT .what a pain in the ass.I worked on an estate in sussex the footpath went right by the main house, no more than 25yds from the front door .It took about 3 years , every rambler in the world objected to it being moved ..and when it finally was no one took any notice of the signs to the new path that had to be constructed passed by the council etc etc ...They all worked on the " if its not in the rambling guide " option ..They used to take the signs down & chuck them in the undergrowth along with the please keep your dogs on a lead signs...they never see a problem with
