    worth a watch

Been watching it from the off. It's as good as I remember it the first time round. I find it amazing to look back at the city as it was. Brilliantly written, well ahead of its time, it captures the mood of the era so well, very funny but also very sad, hard times! Yep, tonight it's Yozza's story, wath out for a young Andrew Schofield (Scully, remember that?) as the copper... 'Don't BUT me'!!!
  2. 1988... , it was dogs, dogs and more dogs.... then in the days off.... Fishing stiffs and suicides out the river Mersey whilst working on the rescue boat and extra shifts lifeguarding at the local pool. Wild nights crazy days, booze, birds and a liberal smattering of violence... Good times! (Oh lord, thinking back... I'm a shadow of my former self!!!!)
  3. close lol they put a big tent up in stanley park inbetween EVERTON and liverpool's grounds one of the best domestic bouts in my opinion And mine GTE

  7. Just as it should be Stabs, with the old girl seving well and making room for the next generation. I'll bet she doesn't get a full retirement , I don't belive any genuine dog should but I wish her many years of good living and best of luck with your young dogs future.

    ray mears

Ray Mears... Big fat, smug tit! Wouldn't last 5 mins in the wilderness without a pie! Spends three days carving a spoon then opens a tin of corned beef, tosser! Whats the explorer guy, posh fella, last of the real explorers, Benedict Allen, now he's worth watching.
  9. Very sad news, i'm sorry for your loss BUT, these are the things that can happen when out, hunting can be very dangerous for our dogs. I've lost 2 over two years with another smashed so bad he's now in semi-retirement, so I know how much it hurts. No dog is irreplaceable, if you love the game your in, you'll take stock, think about where it went wrong, think about and obtain your next dog, bring it on better (as we all can) and get yourself back in the game. Life's too fecking short!
  10. A very handy litter, these should do very well, best of luck with the sale
  11. Christ, this post is getting deep, interesting but deep! Feeding before a nights graft was the original question, my answer is no... I feed my dogs from 9pm to 11pm nightly, if i'm going out they eat when back home, that way i don't have to worry about anything. I have, in the past, tried different feeds early on, as a 'boost' to a good nights graft, the raw egg etc type stuff but if i'm honest i didn't see any difference if I fed it or not. Dogs kept well and well run, will not suffer any loss in effort or performance if their feed time goes over, especially if their doing what they
  12. Tidy pups Ronnie, what are they out of?
  13. It's been a good thred this so far, tnhough it seems to be fragmenting a little from the original. To the original question, a companion for me, we both expect different things from one another, me getting him/her out for a start, finding the right speck, selecting the right quarry, all these things and plenty more are my parts. The dog runnig its quarry, catching it (and thats what i'm expecting, catches. From the pup i've selected to bringing it on to maturity. None of this constant near miss stuff, its a dog for a job, on bunnys for example, i'm not going to say, 'fair play, good rabbit

  15. Good stuff, nowt better than doing well localy.
  16. Nope, Buck didn't mind what coat type his dogs had as long as it wasn't loose and open. Breay prefered a smooth coated dog but had a few off Buck with hard and broken coats. I met Frank Buck at GT Yorkshire in the late 's, he was showing a black dog with a very rough coat, the dog was noticable not only because Frank was at the other end of the lead but because it was the only dog in its class not stripped or 'preened' in any way. I asked him it's breeding, he replied, 'Its my own stuff, what i've always kept'. I've always felt a bit daft for asking Frank Buck that question, i suppose he'd ha
  17. Ian, can you get any other Meindl's? I'm looking at the Glockner as my next boot.
  18. Dead right John, me too....R.I.P.
  19. Looks like a scene from Cool Hand Luke... "Taken it off here Boss..."
  20. Wow Tiff, now that does look impressive, every thing about it looks 'right', from the dogs themselves (like the look of that deep chested buckskin critter on the chain), to the set-ups (pens, drinkers etc), then theres the rigs Just looks so un-pretensious and down to earth....! I gather those dogs don't need to do much jumping, as those pens are very low? Thanks for posting

    mike Tyson

Many would say it was BECAUSE of cus d,amato that he did turn out like he did !.....Taking a kid in and teaching him boxing skills is great, but taking a kid in and allowing him to run riot and do what he wants because you dont want him to leave is another thing.Look what happened when Teddy Atlas put Tyson in line for trying it on with a young girl Cus fired him and allowed Tyson to carry on being an arse to people. As regards Tyson as an athlete and a fighter he simply didnt have what it took, its happened before and will happen again.....part of being a great fighter is mental toughness a
