  2. A great and informative thred people, thank you
  3. By Christ Moll, those three are a pleasure to behold....
  4. Patrick thats a very nice pup you got there, we'll have an hour or so out tomorrow if ya can? I'm watching the combine now, on the field next to yours. Seen some crackin bull whippets over the years, not my dog though, i'd always prefer a little more size but get a good 'un and they'll tackle anthing. You'll have some fun with yours.
  5. I'm sure she'll be there this year Gnipper, flashing those big lashes at ye again! Anyone else gonna make it to this new one for us?
  6. Some very tidy dogs on here Though the thred may as well say 'Lets see your...'! Ain't putting mine up, one thing he ain't an thats racey..!!
  7. Being a city kid, i wouldn't have had a clue until aged about 7 my dad came home with a Grew pup. Even then it took a year or two till on a caravaning holiday, she was nailing rabbits daily. I can still remember that little bitch breakneck over that ground. I was hooked, though I really didn't know what I was hooked on! It all came clear, when I met a lad with a 'real' Lurcher. Jet was a big steel grey 'Deerhoundy' looking dog, I say 'Deerhoundy' as Jet was simply a Lurcher, what was in him really didn't matter back then, not like it does now!! His owner John was a few years older than me,
  8. Cheers Ronnie. Gnipper, be good to meet you if you have a wander over, as it would any THL members, hope to see you there!
  9. Basically a lurcher of unknown breeding, or one that any distinct type couldn't be recognised in. As in could be 57 varieties that make up the dog, like Heniz! Some say they are the best type of dog and sometimes, i would agree! Some folk get to hung up on breeds, ability is the key for me...!
  10. Really like the look of this litter, great insight to the breeding too, i'd also agree with Tomo, in that if you got more pics bang 'em up. I'm not in the market, but these remind me of a youngster I once had (also named Bella!). What i see as real Lurcher types. Good to see! If anyone's in the market for good old fashioned knock about Lurchers, i'd bet you wouldn't go far wrong here..! All the best with the sale.
  11. From the ones I've seen in use, as i'm on the same trail as you Artic, the Wenlock range have been the best but the choices are huge mate, i'd always opt for the multi fuel.
  12. Thank you Christian, yer mate right on your doorstep, i'm not far these days either! Yer mate, new one for us, they contacted us and asked us to do it. To be honest, though its ran for a few years I've never been, only because there were no Lurchers or Terriers. Hopefully a L&T show will give it a real boost.
  13. Some cracking answers but i think your question referred to 'the better dogman'. In my opinion the better dogman is admired by his dedication and skill with both his dogs and quarry, regardless of the quarry species.
  14. Merseyside Working Terrier & Lurcher Club will be running the Lurcher & Terrier show at the Southport Town & Country Fair Sunday 28th August 2011 All Classes, Inc Bull X, Plummer, Bedlington, Entered Terrier & Working Lurcher Qualifiers for EDRD 2012 £100 prize money for Champion Terrier & Champion Lurcher.
  15. I ain't a keeper bud but i'd go with Paramo all day. Best waterproof field jacket out there.
  16. Hats off to you Skycat for putting up a cracking and informative repy, same with you Casso too, thats what makes this Forum what it is, people taking the time and effort to help others...
  17. Yer, lads it is pricey but then again, it is a Gamefair and the club is invited to do the show. We have also been asked to do a Gamefair in Southport on the Bank Holiday also, I'll pin all the details as soon as I have them. We are currently thrashing about venues for our own show, it's been a long while coming, we've been without one for about five years now. It's a club night tonight and a venue is high on the list, though the club is a bit split on it, GTE has suggested a cracker though, i'm all for it, so we'll see.
  18. Thanks for that Zippo, very informative mate
