He was out of a Tyson bred dog to a Cowan bred bitch Neil. Threw to his dam's side, leggy, narrow fronted and had a Bedlington top knot if not stripped. Worked like his dam too, full on, agile as a cat, the type that could work well in rock. Would kill foxes in deep and would try an draw and kill if shallow. Took a while and a fair bit of face to work steady on them big dog foxes.. Was petrified of any quarry it had killed and would not go anywhere near it..! Editrd to add... Cost me twenty quid as a ball of fluff!

'83 or '84, that badge on the jacket is from the North West T&LC, which was the old Wigan club, i still have it.

1988, first house and a new lurcher pup to go in it. Kennels would soon attach to that shed. Same pup, on the left (my right), on Altcar. Not exactly dressed for the occasion but my mate picked me up, with the dogs, from work (Lifeguard!) to go for a run.

If it was my dog i wouldn't have got it fixed if i wasn't gonna run her again, she'd have been pts. Get the dog fit and go for it. If all's gone well with the vet there should be no problem...

Its the sort of sport thats probably more technical than the average sports fan would understand......a bit like sprinting you tend to think a lot of it is natural and apart from physical strength/fitness theres not much to improve on but im sure theres tiny tweaks here and there that make a lot of difference.Its interesting i always had the East End and Liverpool down as similar areas rough docks etc with similar working class and sporting traditions but i cant for the life of me ever remember swimming pools round these parts back then i know we never went with the school infact the only pool

Swimming and Boxing thats an interesting combination,many times one sport will lead us into another but its not often one sport will compliment another i can see how each of those would but its like anything do you want to play at both or be serious about one.......i didnt learn to swim till my boxing career was finished and i still swim like a petrified kitten now ......national level swimming thats some standard do you think with time and dedication you could of taken it further ? The only answer i can give Gnash is maybe.. Swimming is such a difficult sport for a kid to get to any decent l

If you buy a pup, train, socialise and feed a pup for three years it's going to cost around a grand.I am pointing out that this money has been spent on the adult dog that's for sale. So the vendor isn't exactly making a killing on the sale. Maybe it's just me then but as ALL dogs need grub, training, etc it shouldn't come into the price of a working lurcher. Breeding and ability are the only things a dog should be priced on imo.

How the feck can food and care come into the price tag of a dog... That comes as fecking standard, of any dog!! It aint an add on to the price ffs, no matter what you feckin feed it or how you look after it..!!!

Long time ago i could swim a bit, swam for my city and nationals for a few years. Boxed at the Rotunda too and loved that more than swimming. Each coach would activly encourage me to give the other sport up... I was at a better level at swimming than i was boxing and sadly boxing got the elbow. Strangly enough i played cricket for the city too but no one else but me seemed to give a shite about that, lol! These days, after both a life and career in sports and leisure i know where i'm at in life... This year i was persuaded (forced because of injury!) to jump in and compete at the National Lif
