    From what I've seen, prices have passed the peak and have begun to reduce. There have been some crazy prices, ruling out some good homes from keeping a dog.

    She's a real beauty! Looks very alert and keen too. Interesting that she has an off button. For me that is very important otherwise a dog is a nuisance in the home.

    I had an Australian Cattle Dog crossed with a small lurcher. She was incredibly loyal and easily trained. Was too slow for anything except lamping, but was the best companion dog I ever had.

    How obedient do you find them? Do they need lots of work or are they fairly peaceful?

    The Irish Terrier bitch I had was fine with other dogs, she would never start trouble and would happily play. If another dog started trouble she would remember them and hold a grudge. Absolutely bombproof with the kids. Good luck with your pup.

    My daughter saw a raccoon a few times here in North Shropshire. I thought she was mistaken until she got a photo.

    I had an A.C.D crossed with a small lurcher. Because of that she lacked speed. But she was very game and would try very hard. She was easy to train, obedient and very loyal. She was also sensibly protective. In addition she was faultless in the house, very peaceful and quiet and not at all destructive. She would take as much exercise as I could give her, but was happy to lie around if I didn't exercise her. In many ways she was probably the best dog I'll ever have. Just too small and too heavily built for speed.

    I saw a litter of Irish Terrier X whippet pups advertised recently. I'd love to have tried one but had no room.
