  1. I had an Irish terrier birch exactly like this. The best dog with the kids I've ever had. Would never start trouble with other dogs, would always play as long as they were friendly.
  2. Glad you found good homes for them. So important in more ways than one.
  3. I had an Australian cattle dog crossed with a lurched. Totally loyal, biddable and game. Just lacked a bit of speed. I know a lady who breeds A.C.D. - she doesn't always use the best dogs with the best temperament. As long as they win in the show ting she's happy. I also owned an Irish terrier. Lovely bitch, great temperament, not aggressive unless provoked, and remembered her training well - sit, stay, come etc. Great with kids. I would love an Irish terrier first cross. Thick skin and coat, light build, hunting instinct and bold.
  4. That's a good looking dog. Glad she recovered.
  5. Irish terrier cross should be ideal.
  6. Sorry to hear you won't post again. Im interested to hear of her progress. All the best to you for giving her a good home and a good life. Have fun.
  7. I know this is an old thread but I'm wondering how it turned out? Also I had an Irish terrier. She was brilliant with the kids. Would wrestle and play. She was the dog I have trusted most out of quite a few. Also she never started trouble with other dogs, but would play happily if they were friendly. Only if they were aggressive towards her would she show aggression.
  8. From what I can gather it seems the genuine first crosses shed very little if they are either clipped or stripped. My Irish Terrier was like that. She hardly left a hair when her coat was maintained.
  9. Is he half Bedlington? Ie first cross with a running dog?
  10. Yes, but my last lurcher - a mixture, didn't leave hair, I kept her clipped.
  11. Hi, I know this isn't a usual question, but do first cross Bedlington whippets and Bedlington Greyhounds moult if you keep them clipped? My current lurched mix sheds quite a lot. Her indoors isn't happy really, so I'm wondering next time if we can find a cross that doesn't shed.
  12. Well done mate, keep at it and enjoy being out with your dog. She sounds a good dog even if she isn't the world beater some seem to expect.
  13. Does anyone here use Bedlingtons for bushing? Or is there a concern of them dropping to ground? If you use them what are they like?
  14. Good look with her, they are lovely dogs. Please keep us updated.
  15. Thank you. I've heard that they seem to have good noses. How about moulting - the first crosses?
  16. Hi, what is the scent ability like on the first crosses? Also, do the first crosses moult or do people strip/ clip them?
  17. She is a great looking bitch, all the best with her. I would love to see more of this cross. I may consider it myself at some point.
  18. I fail to see what Skycat has done wrong. Come on lads stick to the original question and leave her alone. We all make mistakes.
  19. Sorry about your nasty experience, Im glad you seem to be healing physically and emotionally. Will pray you are back to normal soon.
  20. ACD are deceptively athletic and fast, a half cross is similar to a collie half cross. A 3/4 cross could well be awesome.
