  1. Got one rapid Dave. Al lives about a mile from me, across the fields behind my house (as the crow flys). Went to the same school.
  2. Madhatter, not been on for a while though. I’m sure you must know Bigals?
  3. Me too Dave, some good blokes on there.
  4. FAC air are great, but so are 12ft lbs. the fac air rifles will have you grinning from ear to ear for a while though, then the sub 12’s will find their use again. It’s like when you first get a rimfire, then a centrefire. I have them all, but still love the sub 12’s. In fact, I’ve just bought an HW100KS in .177 flavour, loving it.
  5. I find that the first ten shots or so are fairly awful, second ten they start to bed in and close up, but only at short range Nigel. They were shooting within an inch at 35 yards. Hardly fantastic, but usable out to 30-35 yard range maximum shot from the right barrel. I normally use them at 20 yards shooting rats. Rws z Lang’s I find far superior, but quite a bit more powerful.Couldn’t get the cb longs to work with any useful accuracy at all in the sportsman, but that barrel liked stingers. The only one I’ve known to actually shoot stingers well. To be fair to the ‘el cheapo’ target holder. It
  6. Well, after setting up with cb longs at 27 yards, and having just about finished off my target holder/pellet catcher, I set off to shoot some of the many rats I’ve been seeing for the last month all along the embankment. Hmm, not a rat to be seen, plenty of rabbits again, but mostly out of range of the cb’s accuracy potential. Having said that, I was able to achieve minute of squirrels head at 35 yards. The cb’s we’re cloverleafing at 27 yards after I’d run a few through the barrel to bed them in. Not a great range, but more than enough for what I intended to use them for today. I’ve not given
  7. Good shooting Dave. Having all those rapids are you on the rapid forum?
  8. That’s got to be an ideal tool for rookery shooting Dave. I reckon the .22 rapid mk1 with 400cc bottle @ 28ft lbs is an awesome tool, yours even more so I’d think. Those rapids are just going to go forever. Built strong and easy to service. Proper tools imo.
  9. Half choke stays in my autos, quarter in my 12 gauge pump, full in my mossberg hushpower 20 because that’s the only choke I’ve got for it. My sxs is fixed half and full. Fourten used to be full, now cylinder, as I cut the end off the little bugger. All the better for it as well. 9mm garden gun, who knows? Or cares......I don’t think too much about choke really. I know people who take a box of chokes with them when they go shooting.
  10. Fantastic, olde skool high power air. Nice shooting fella.
  11. Well done Dave, that’ll help the songbirds out fella. Nice looking rapid, how many shots/ft lbs are you getting from the 500 bottle?
  12. 63 paces to the first one and just over80 for the one on the bank. I paced80 to the bottom of the embankment, forgot my range finder but estimated pretty well anyway. Shot was exactly where intended, so I was pleased with that one.
  13. Yep, so many nay sayers out there Nathan. As you know.....
  14. Just a quick mooch this afternoon. Took my little Anschutz and some mini mags. Plenty of rabbits about, but just wanted a couple for the pot. It was nice to feel a bit of early spring sunshine for a change.
  15. Excellent stuff Nathan, thanks for sharing. Looks like you had an enjoyable time.
  16. Good to know you got it working again Gav. Nice one fella.
  17. Rez, you’re so young that you call a ten year old gun vintage, lol.....I wish I could say the same fella.
  18. Good shooting, squirrels got a headache for sure....
