  1. I use heat lamps with two settings for changes in temperature. I also use small insulated kennels and keep two dogs to a kennel and these are deep with shredded paper. Hard working dogs lose lots of energy, why make them lose more fighting the cold?
  2. Well done to you the more people (sportsmen) who see and act as to how to benefit all Wildlife the better. we all need to get away from this I have paid my money and i am entitled to take attitude, our syndicate operates a system if your prepared to get stuck in and involve yourself in work parties your also deserve the right to control the wildlife in a balanced way to benefit it . If more had the attitude as you have in what you do we would see better quality and more healthy animals and other wildlife as the correct type of foods and habitat will be in place. Well done to you. keep it u
  3. I'm surprised no enterprising company has done it mate, i'm sure its fairly simple in design. Must be patented i guess. I have given an old grey box and terrier collar to a customer who has given it to an electronic company, so watch this space! And I think it can only have copy rights if it is copied, so a slight change would be needed.
  4. Have had young here for a bit longer than that. One particular place I go about a week ago I had 7 does all with young, but it's always nice and warm down here
  5. I am involved in rivers and the recreation of spawning beds for Brown Trout. The projects involve opening out over grown streams to allow light in to promote photosynthesis which intern encourages invertebrates which feed fish. This is all back breaking work and also very secretive because of the risk of poaching. Many farming practises have damaged natural reproduction of our native Browns and in the south east they need all the help they can get. I've also been involved in a couple of other projects but I fear these are just a waist of government money.
  6. Most if not all can be made to jack
  7. i have had my grubbs stalkers nearly 2 years apart from a rip in the neoprene my own fault they are great and still going strong far better than muckboots I was wondering when Grubb Stalkers were going to be mentioned, mine are on the way . Had nearly all the others, Muck boots(Tay) last, they lasted me just over a year. They went at the heel crease, shop said they hadn't seen them go there before and the soles had lots left on them. But as said you need a good pair boots as well . Well received the Grubb Stalkers and they were to tight in the width and too loose around the
  8. Good on ya. If there are lots of rabbits the food will be low and rabbits only start to reproduce if enough nutrients are about. This is usually governed by day light hours and temperature which to date has been relatively high, hence the amount of pregnant does. Not the case in your area.

  11. Going to sleep? , no I'm not sure The ferret was put in a "single holed back filled by the gardener bury." It was located at two feet under a old Yew hedge, the ground was rock solid and full of roots. After digging approximately 10" it was checked for position and it had moved, to 6' ,it stayed at this point for 3 hours :icon_eek:. I then drove back home to collect a trap, set the trap, contacted the lady of the house who said she would check the earth periodicity and left at around 5.45pm. Now just a note, this ferret was fairly young, last years litter around 8 months and quite fat. We

  17. Nice write up I wish I could make my evenings sound that interesting. I would turn an exciting eventful evening into a boring dull one . I had 12 bunnies last night and the best thing I can think to write is the mile or so walk back to the car up hill , although I did think up a good caption to put with a picture message I sent some pal's it was "My big fat Gipsy Bull x."
