Paul WhiteHouse troubled waters
TRUEBRIT66 replied to forest of dean redneck's topic in General Talk
Seriously breaks my heart mate. I expect like me you can remember catching minnows in the stream at the back of Baddocks woods when you were a kid? I don't need to tell you that stream is rancid now all the way down to the river and has been for 40 years. Sad fact is we have outgrown this island we live on and not just in population but also our wastage. I bet there are not many on here that could say something as simple as they have never tipped their out of date milk down the drain. Sewage is reasonably easy to treat its the rest of the crap we produce that's not. -
Watching news reports and you tube videos I have noticed Unite and Unison seem to be funding these pro-immigration marches even busing Antifa in for them. Just wondering how many staunch union members feel about that and if they are happy with their subs going on something they may not agree with ? Is the union actually for the working man any more ?

Yep correct but they would still have a discharge consent if pumping direct into sewer or it may be tankered either way my point was it ends up at the treatment plant. Not all wastes are pre-treated some go in raw also, my point was the more waste going into the plant the bigger the strain on the plant to treat it. Thats the issue if the water company cant take it because they are at the limit imposed by the EA for discharge, where does it go? We are not just talking sewage here a large percentage of what is treated at sewage plants are commercial/trade wastes. If they stopped -

Im a fanatical fisherman but as some one who works in the liquid waste sector, I will just come at this from a different angle. I’m not looking for argument or condoning the water companies I think It’s a travesty what is happening to our rivers and streams but waste water treatment plants don’t just treat the sewage we create, they treat the storm water and have to by law treat Leachates from landfill sites, washing from abattoirs, liquid wates from food processing factories, brewery wastes, the packaging your food comes in, even bait making, the list is endless. As consumers we for -
Spot on, this is a bit of correspondence I sent to the local councillor when he back handily accused me of inciting racial hatred in the local news letter and would not speak to me face to face other than his council meeting surrounded by his cronies. "There is no need for you to respond as I previously mentioned there is little point but I am however prepared to meet you at the town centre and we can walk the high street asking the people sleeping in the doorways if they have been given the offer of free board, 3 meals a day and immediate health and dental checks ? Perhaps you can expl

I don’t know I’m not bothered about being labelled a racist but I am about the impact it would and does have on my family and I would say that makes me sensible rather than a coward. The way I see it is I didn’t let my kids go to the mosque because of the teachings of Islam, I spoke to the school because my kids couldn’t understand the Pakistani teacher and I have voiced concerns about the asylum seekers being housed in the hotel because I would have had the same concerns if 300 white single males between the ages of 16 and 49 from Australia at the tax payers expense were housed there. You star

Just watch the clips of any protest predominately genuinely concerned local middle aged mixed sex people in attendance not a skinhead with Martens and braces on in sight. But counter protests by Antifa and care for Calias are mostly youngsters and a few hippie types bused in from out of the area. Its coming because they want it mate sad but true.
-
All true mate but nothing has changed, anyone still highlighting these issues are immediately labelled as far right. I keep hearing my kids wont do this and we need to stand up for our children but the sorry fact is the youngsters are the ones that want a multi cultural Britain. I wouldnt allow my boys as children into the mosque on a school visit (the muslim children were exempt from attending the local church), I have visited the school when they couldnt understand the Pakistani maths teacher and only recently I have been in touch with councillors and local papers to express concern at

History has taught us situations like this don't end up well and we haven't learnt from it. I know people who were moderate thinking becoming more and more right wing and right wing who are going off the scale. Keep poking a sleeping dog and even the most docile of animals eventually bites back its whether its all gone to far to reign it in is the biggest problem faced now.

Had a meeting with one of the biggest egg packers in the country yesterday said they have never been so busy 17 million eggs a week going through the plant and they have had no supply issues as of yet.

I was chatting to the bloke in the local farm shop on Saturday plenty of tomatoes and cucumber on sale. He said its the supermarkets refusing to pay the price from the supplier, they then create "a shortage scenario" giving them the opportunity to put the price up. The suppliers have a shit load of stock they cant get rid of so cave in, supermarkets keep the price at the inflated "shortage level" making even more profit off the supplier and the consumer. Morale of the story, fcuk the supermarkets support your local farm shop.

I've written previously that I've been badgering the local councillor who has been writing how great the influx of migrants to the area is and filling the local news letter with lies. I haven't spoken to one person who is in agreement but not one will so much as write a letter or turn up at the local meeting with me and the news letter has ignored my emails but the councillor is now claiming I'm whipping up hatred. Not once have I said we shouldn't house genuine migrants I've simply questioned how he can condone it when he has no idea who these people are, where they are from and if they are e

It is truly shocking, there are over 2500 veterans currently homeless in the UK and over 1 million people on the social housing list. In the whole of the Sedgmoor region as of the 21st of December 2022, they only had 267 registered properties available and those 1 million are slipping further and further down the housing ladder.

Theres the problem do gooders. Holiday Inn up by me shut 300 moved in Local Councillor did a article in the local news letter telling emotive lie after lie. I have sent a 2 emails direct to him now asking him to explain how he knows they are "mainly families" and "experienced trauma" when the HO wont even release who these people are or their demographic. I have sent emails to the news letter, local paper and have complained to the Holiday Inn and not had not one single reply. Every one I talk to agrees but no one will do anything about it. Wilf was right until it effects people directly

TRUEBRIT66 replied to Greyman's topic in General Talk
Yes mate booked another 3 nights in a couple of weeks time I'm keeping a close eye on the forecast ? The plus side was we walked the Carey Valley which wouldnt have happened if the lakes were fishable so all was not lost. -

A couple from a few weeks back looks great but £300 on a fishing weekend and the lakes being froze solid took the shine off it a bit! -
Passive insular selfish mentality. The ones who it doesn't effect directly wont do a thing and the ones that it does effect cant join the dots and work out that is the cause. I'm probably just as bad, apart from my post on here moaning, the letter of concern to the councillor and a email to the Holiday Inn advising I will never use their hotels again I will be reverting to a passive insular and selfish mentality.

300 Immigrants from Kent being housed in the Holiday Inn in North Petherton Somerset near Bridgwater. Local councillor reporting he has only had one negative phone call in relation to it (he's about to receive his 2nd) and asking for help clothing and providing sanitary products for them as they only get £8 a day as well as 3 cooked meals a day. Hes also reported it is only a temporary measure until they find them permanent housing!!!! There are approximately 15 homeless people sleeping rough if you walk through the small high street in Bridgwater and not one can get accommodation, the l

I've touched on this in previous posts, sickness rife and used as holiday entitlement, refusal to deliver product if it could involve going over finishing time by minutes, unions actually dictating the shift pattern to suit, management having meetings to decide when to have the next meeting, ridiculous HR courses, I could go on. The blood is paid for by the hospital if its carried on a blue light they have to pay more that's why hospitals sometimes use the volunteer bikers. And yes I did do something about it when I left the NHSBT 10 years ago I put in a number of official complaints to

Anyone who gives blood is doing an amazing thing and I doff my cap to them unfortunately some of the people who work for the NHSBT do not have the same ethic.
