Theres the problem do gooders. Holiday Inn up by me shut 300 moved in Local Councillor did a article in the local news letter telling emotive lie after lie. I have sent a 2 emails direct to him now asking him to explain how he knows they are "mainly families" and "experienced trauma" when the HO wont even release who these people are or their demographic. I have sent emails to the news letter, local paper and have complained to the Holiday Inn and not had not one single reply. Every one I talk to agrees but no one will do anything about it. Wilf was right until it effects people directly

Yes mate booked another 3 nights in a couple of weeks time I'm keeping a close eye on the forecast ? The plus side was we walked the Carey Valley which wouldnt have happened if the lakes were fishable so all was not lost. -

A couple from a few weeks back looks great but £300 on a fishing weekend and the lakes being froze solid took the shine off it a bit! -
Passive insular selfish mentality. The ones who it doesn't effect directly wont do a thing and the ones that it does effect cant join the dots and work out that is the cause. I'm probably just as bad, apart from my post on here moaning, the letter of concern to the councillor and a email to the Holiday Inn advising I will never use their hotels again I will be reverting to a passive insular and selfish mentality.

300 Immigrants from Kent being housed in the Holiday Inn in North Petherton Somerset near Bridgwater. Local councillor reporting he has only had one negative phone call in relation to it (he's about to receive his 2nd) and asking for help clothing and providing sanitary products for them as they only get £8 a day as well as 3 cooked meals a day. I've touched on this in previous posts, sickness rife and used as holiday entitlement, refusal to deliver product if it could involve going over finishing time by minutes, unions actually dictating the shift pattern to suit, management having meetings to decide when to have the next meeting, ridiculous HR courses, I could go on. The blood is paid for by the hospital if its carried on a blue light they have to pay more that's why hospitals sometimes use the volunteer bikers. And I will add if we celebrated the real meaning of Christmas and the grossly financial and over commercialized aspect of it disappeared that would also be outlawed as well. Its still allowed because it makes the money men even more.

We have one Christian value that is still there and everyone entertains and that is Christmas. But that is also being eroded by the other religions we have allowed to saturate this country. So is it any wonder these values are disappearing, we are having our values and culture removed slowly by stealth laws and having them replaced by foreign ones.

If any of my sons were born in India and, lived in India they would be brought up with British values (whatever they are now) and seen as and encouraged to identify as British regardless of what it says on the paperwork. So I presume it depends how the individual feels and Identifies and more controversially looks. Disclaimer: The chances of any of my children being born or raised in India are the same as me stepping in unicorn shit on the next walk across the Sedges.

Its a difficult one and I can see where both you and Wilf are coming from but at what stage is a area deprived and just because an area outwardly doesn't look deprived it don't mean the residents aren't, the clip is a little ambiguous. I keep hearing us all being classed as rich or poor, well who decides that and whats the bench mark? We are a 2 car family and do ok financially but my wife and I work full time for that privilege. We have to save for a holiday and budget for all our expenditures, I would never say I was rich but I'm not poor either.

Whats worrying is the NHS is turning into a "how you will be treated lottery". Ive been treated for Fibromyalgia for over a year now for pain in my leg and knee, could never see a doctor face to face and had various phone calls dismissed. A few months back woke up in absolute agony and my knee swollen taken to hospital where I had to have my knee drained of fluid, I had steroid injections, antibiotics for a infection and anti inflammatory.
