'Savage' otter given pride of place in manor grounds despite killing prized swan (telegraph.co.uk) Hope your well P ? There was a Swan at Combwhich ponds the locals named "cyanide" because he was deadly and would attack anything that got close. A otter is now a resident of the ponds and "cyanide" is conspicuous in his absence ?

Gurt lush accent ?

Peanut butter is a great bait but the mice always seem to clear it out before the rats get to it so try something a bit more "substantial" and I would also remove the back solid panel and put on some wire. I've always found rats and squirrels will be more likely to enter if they think they have another escape route, and change the location of the traps regularly if you stop catching.

If you watched the BBC news last night it would have you believe 99% BAME the other 1% white ?

Ive seen a load of companies have done these, what I don't get is they work out at about £5 and can apparently give a 97% accurate test result in minutes ! Why aren't the test centres using them and why did they stop the 30min fast tracking of vehicles to France because the test weren't accurate enough ? Even a test with the high street chemists takes 24hrs and costs £100+. If they are that great provide households them FOC and get everyone self testing every few days and back to work . Its another covid mystery ?

Seen loads live some have been a complete let down, saw Madness a few years back for the 4th time and they were shocking and should have given up years ago. Glastonbury 83 was my first proper live gig and shaped my taste for music later on in life with Marillion become a band I followed for years after.

Shocking, but as GM alluded to hardly surprising the world seems to be in self destruct mode. I was going to say "were all going to hell in a handcart" which considering its origins is ironic ?

Some representative from the teachers union on the news this morning complaining that to many children were in the schools when it should only be children of essential workers................When is the penny going to drop that almost everyone in employment is being classed as a essential worker ?

I don't think anyone would dispute a "lockdown" would not help in this situation but this isn't a lockdown. I work in a heavy industrialised area and there is not one single unit/operation that is not running, its as busy as it always have been. It feels more and more like our ability to do anything outside of work has been taken away and our civil liberties are being eroded.
-
I hope not, I'm moving further down South to get away from the shit stain that is Bristol ??
-
And has anyone seen the list of "essential workers" it appears almost everything other than leisure and activities are ok to crack on at work. The more this goes on the more it feels like a control thing.
-
Heard similar from a nurse based at Taunton, she was actually fast tracked so she could come to Bristol to man the Nightingale on the March lockdown, and we no what happened with that. I was also reading they reckon over 50% of the population have already had it without even knowing! I'm not suggesting the virus isn't serious but the response just seems to get more and more bizarre. Had a email from the Angling Trust last night fishing has been banned completely I seriously don't know how that is worse than me or the wife going to work and mixing with hundreds of strangers ?

There you go Max https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/face-coverings-when-to-wear everything is open to abuse, if you ask politely I'm sure the "trout pouted" shop assistant would have explained why. If she was behind a screen that is deemed as protection enough ?

Sir Ranulph Fiennes, the first man to completely cross Antarctica by foot and the world’s most prolific endurance record holder, swears by these Skee-Tex Thermal Boots and has worn them on many of his polar expeditions.

My wife works in a shop and is exempt from wearing a mask because of medical conditions, she wears a badge explaining that. You do not need a medical certificate to prove you are exempt and can download the badges from the government website. There are rumours that individual stores may make them compulsory for all staff and those that cant wear mask will be moved to a non customer focused role or put on full sick. Not a dig but If it concerns you that much why not ask politely why they are not wearing one if its medical reasons I'm sure they would explain why ? Sometimes asking in

There was a doctor on LBC radio from Gloucester yesterday talking about this, reckons the video was taken of the corridors around the wards and these were empty because of isolation he said if the video would have shown the wards they were packed. I presume the arrest was made because it was a isolation and she shouldn't have been near the ward but that was not mentioned. Did make a valid point that no film crews are allowed in as it wouldn't be fair on the families of the patients who are not allowed access. IMO he didn't sound to convincing and the usual soundbites were spewed out.

Buy and try, Westbury on Trym ? Just like a sweet shop without the sweets ?

I didn't compare nurses and doctors to bin men and sewage workers though, I questioned why the need for such adulation for a organisation and its employees who are paid to do a job, they are especially needed in times like these but 76,200 of them go sick on one day but are still treated like messiahs. Life's experiences mould your opinions and thoughts and mine are the NHS are not the saviours they are being made out to be.
-
Actually you wouldnt last long if everyone's waste or sewage system stopped and the consequences would be more severe than covid. I worked in the NHS and left because I couldnt stomach the red tape and in some cases the unprofessional attitude of a large number of the people I worked with, not all, but quite a few.
-
Sorry about your Grandparents and to answer your question its sadly a bit of both.
-
Some were migrants Greb, some were not. What they all had in common was they were all lazy b*****ds who didn't give a shit about the NHS or the people they were supposedly helping.
-
It just grinds me the adulation the NHS gets when there have been other essential services through out this year that have received no credit. NHS staff get to walk past the queues in the supermarket but the bin men, sewer workers, shop workers etc still have to queue, there not all the angels the media like to make out.
-
I worked for a department of the NHS many moons ago and as in all walks of life you had your fair share of wasters in fact the sick pay was almost considered a perk. It was so bad I would roster the drivers around days when I knew their sickness would be due as it was on a rolling basis. I'm not suggesting all NHS staff are like this, some do a amazing job, but apparently 76,200 NHS staff failed to turn up for work in one single day in November no private company would tolerate those levels of sickness.

For my sins I have almost every hooligan book published and there are some shockers. I would recommend "Top Boys" which details most top firms its easier reading than most as its more of a interview style. One of the most entertaining and believable was "Naughty Forty" which follows one of Stokes Top Lads not just about football but his life and hardships.
-
I’ve always said it takes a certain type of person to actually cause physical harm to another person whether that be in a boxing ring, local pub on a Saturday or at the football. Most of the “football hooligans” now and even back in the day have never thrown a punch in anger. Look at the youtube clips there are 2 or 3 on both sides who actually go “toe to toe” the rest shout, posture and throw glasses indiscriminately. Most of the top firms like Millwall and West Ham just simply had a bigger group of lads that were that “certain type of person”, the rest had the mouthy stand behind t
