I totally agree with you shaaark. How lads can say they are lurchers is beyond me mate. Useless lumps n good for nothing. Pedantic and controversial my posts/comments can sometimes be. But bite, you will not get out of me, oh bull cross owner lol.Edited to add, I will say it til my dying breath, bull crosses are NOT lurchers, and as you've just said king, are useless lumps of nothing, that offer NOTHING to proper lurcher work Shaark was you ever molested by a bull cross owner lol or did you catch the missus in with one you owned lol, there is therapy available ,go out and catch some foxes w

There's also an embrocation you can use called odzon that's usually what is suggested for that kind of injury. It's a good move to get them to a bone man at the end of the season for a once over ,as they will see (feel) problems you didn't know was there. So for a tenner it's a small price to pay for peace of mind.
-
If you can get over to rugeley there's a bloke called Meek's that's pretty good. He only charges a tenner ,but if you phone he may be at a place he can meet up . Will only diagnose the problem and advise on treatment ,but at least you'll know when you stand.

Has Anyone Seen This Before? Ridiculous.
roybo replied to johnboynewt's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs

Why Does It Matter... When It Comes To Breeding?
roybo replied to Hamish.J.Cronan's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Well what I mean ,is using any line bred lurcher over either a bitsa or scatter bred dog will throw strongly towards the line bred animal . If there are certain traits be it physical or mental ,you may lose what made you breed from in the first place, Unless that don't matter and you are just using the bitch to have pups . -

That's right they will tend to throw towards the coursing type but can be to the detriment as well as the good ,particularly if there's a trait you want to keep from the other lurcher. -
Thanks darbo amazing seeing greyhounds that are clearly well trained and worked

I know they are only low res b&w photos , But what strikes me on them all,is the great condition the dogs look in. That's before days if worming jabs, "scientific" dry food probably fed scraps and what came for free. Just goes to show how hardy dogs can be.

Any info on that photo darbo ?

The lads in the republic, I'd assume there will be differences in Irish law.

Was going to say be firm but no need for laying your hands on her ,she'll become more difficult ,praise reassurance, and getting them used to strange situations,is best as dog aggression in pups can be fear.

Collie Grey Bull Grey Or Bull Grey Sal Grey
roybo replied to D Lloyd's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Hes breeding his own 2 dogs that both do the sport that he does and do well . Don't think he's using his own dog to add to the name list on a (non-existent)pedigree . No ones used razors name to sell any pups,he just so happens to be the sire of his dog ,to a bull cross ,so I doubt old puss in the day are his chosen quarry . -

The one I think it is dai? -
Just get her around as many dogs as possible,it's a good time now with all the shows and summer . Mine was the same and it took a while ,getting out and about . It can be stressful for some young dogs ,meeting new dogs as they 1/2 expect them to attack them ,especially if they've been around sharp dogs,so she's probably striking first. So the more friendly dogs she sees the better

Like I said dai, older would be better but you feed them and raise them and bury them They have both been ran hard and are good lurchers . For the game you are in they will do exactly what you want. If they are lemons you will be the first to say so. And I'm sure the one you keep will be worked hard enough to see if you have done the right thing . You haven't twisted anyone's arm to have one ,good luck with any pups you get -
