  1. My old man was from lurgan Yep,can be a rough place ,Neil Lennon was from there lol
  2. Great first half from rangers?
  3. Sheep pigs and cattle have done well out of humans they are on every continent except Antarctica. If we didn't use them they wouldn't exist as they are. They'd probably be extinct.
  4. For my terrier I throw old blankets and clothes in his box and throw them away when they need changing, My sister works in a charity shop and keeps all the old blankets for me Got waterproof covered bed too ,vet bedding is good but always ends up in the corner in a heap Paper does my nut in gets every where same as straw and sawdust.tried them won't be using them in a hurry
  5. Nice set up giro, easy to keep clean too
  6. I'd pay £500 if I really wanted soup out off particular breeding. Price shouldn't be the only reason you buy or not buy a pup. Having said that I think £150 - £200 Is a fair rate for working lurchers and terriers . But it's a double edged sword too cheap to some ,and it's easy come easy go. Too expensive it may put decent lads who would give it a good working home ,but haven't the spare cash. Just because someone is willing to pay more don't mean it will get a better home, plenty of knobheads with money
  7. Personally I'd give them a box each ,just so they have their own space but a more cube should do it easy maybe a bit less on the width and more on the length dependant on the room you have . But if they are draught free maybe a flat bed type would be good enough with a tube underneath ,just to take the chill off
  8. I think on power only they can legally go 15.mpg Then if it's geared right you can get some more ,but it's the fact that you get the help up the hills that I find good
  9. Is there any known breeders of non-PED whippets r is it similar to lurchers in being a smaller scale breed your own type thing?
  10. A dog what does all the time would certainly be worse for me than a dog what does now and again. She drops now and again. But I can live with it. Like I said in PM mate some wouldn't feed her. She's worth her weight in gold to me though. she only has to please you so all's good . Wasn't knocking the breed ,just genuinely interested how you'd get on with them getting to ground ,as I have had crosses go to ground and unless you want a digging dog ,I can be a mare
  11. I put one underneath ,on one box I had and just drilled a few holes under the floor Only did that as he was a chewer. Another I done was just screwed on the inside with a cover
  12. I take it back ...she said they are fantastic workers ,so that's OK then
  13. I'd pay £500 if I wanted one ,but I can't believe that type of cross that they are breeding with hunting in mind. Saw some borzoi x bedlington pups for sale a few years back and that was the same breeding because they can ,simple as really. Seen lads pay 100's on equipment ,or even 1000's on night vision etc yet moan about paying £200 for a dog ,that does all the work for 8 or 10 years . If it came to it I'd pay a lot more than they are going for and think I have had a bargain when you think the service you get from them.
  14. I'd build a box with a lid on it ,and have a covered tube heater inside, so as you aren't heating the whole kennel . Mine hated the heat lamps and used to sleep on the floor to get away from them . The bulbs wouldn't last either so gets expensive .
  15. just wondered if they are to be trusted bushing ,off the lead. If they are going to ground ,especially on rabbits. I mean if a dog consistently goes to ground,it can be managed .....as a digging dog . But if it goes once in a while ,it can get sticky. I know dogs small enough will go if on hot scent. As I say as dog that does it now and then is worse than a dog that never does or does all the time. My Russell could be trusted around rabbit holes and would Mark, but would stay on other stuff ,
  16. 9 out of 10 at game fairs are show rubbish, don't make the mistake of thinking all Plummers are like that, there are working lines, WM Getting a Plummer terrier for earth work when there are well bred black terriers about would be like getting a whippet for running hares... It might do the job. But there's better stuff about to take the gamble on IMO. My bitch is supposedly out of a hard dog which is worked by a terrier man who knows the terrier job. But as said if I wanted a dog strictly for earth work I would go for something bred out of generations of earth dogs. My Plummer drops
  17. Callers are a good way to get game coming to you ,mainly do it when lamping. Give it a go you never know.
  18. Never seen one work a plummer terrier ,but would it be a breed that you'd get with the intention of ground work, are they reliable enough to do that job?. My only experience of them is at game fairs ,where they seem quite argumentative. Nice looking dogs though.
  19. posh is out of Sally by JB Luke mate ??thanks n.e. courser
  20. thats right ,but at least they will run beside it for 4 minutes at least 3 times
  21. shaark likes to wind lads up about bull crosses , he clearly hasn't owned or seen a decent one work.
  22. Forgive me, I ain't up on the coursing blood but how's Porsche bred is she a similar bred bitch to bulldozer?
