  1. i will never own another saluki x, just a clash of personality, i will leave saluki blooded lurchers to those whom get along with them... that just my point ,not all Saluki crosses have the same personality ,Of course there's some that can be difficult to get on with, but even within the same litter thee will be bold and shy pups.you just can't generalise like that . I used a Saluki x over my bitch ,if he'd have been the type that was difficult to get on with I'd have walked away.
  2. I think breeds do come in to it to an extent, but even within a litter you will get different personalities . Their upbringing and experiences growing up will also alter their personalities. Over trained puppies that aren't allowed to be pups will lose some of that personality. I prefer a dog that is not looking over it's shoulder to see if I'm giving an order or calling it to heel. Nothing gets my back up more than people who say stuff like,Saluki crosses are wimpy, whingers that won't do this ,or bull crosses are mad killers that can't catch this etc etc etc, they will invariably prove
  3. It does fly Fuji. Remember picking my bitch up with another for someone else from zapper , Best £100 I ever spent.
  4. ferret peddler lol should have at least 4 years hard graft and be single handed gonna be chilling ,do a bit of camping ,and getting some weight on my younger dog ,and getting him good shape for next season They are sable angoras, the older having a tiger striped tail and green eyes. Bought for their working ability, it's not my fault they are this seasons must have..!If they are under £200 can you save a breeding pair please,or could swap my cinnamon Andorra or hairless giant

  6. Some lovely country up there, plan to see a bit of it this spring/summer.
  7. Hope the lad gets them back mate, looked fine to me just working dog injuries
  8. was 30 year ago mate but wouldn't say a working dog,Just he enjoyed killing ,like most will was a liability around livestock lol.. Had him trained to the hilt though would retrieve from any where. Also had him trained to bite ,but hadn't a nasty bone in him was a big game to him. I went everywhere with him, could even send him home if we (very rarely) pulled lol
  9. Complained to ofcom as soon as the link went up
  10. Probably the very first bit of hunting at 8 or 10 was a bin lid and string to catch song birds lol then moved on to quick lime when I saw the neighbour doing it. Shooting rats and pigeons and moorhens with a gat gun, they usually just ran or flew away, lol, using my old ladies poodle to catch rats too, then my uncle took me ferreting , Then the family staff on foxes Then lurchers and terriers ,
  11. it should be doing that in its first season let alone its 4th.Of course 4th season dog should be at its prime,as good as it gets
  12. Bad training at the 4th season he should reliably come back after a slip
  13. Some dogs can be late developers ,maturity comes later to some. Seen one dog at 2 y.o that looked like it didn't want the work only to become a decent dog a season or 2 later . It's just the waiting that is the hard bit especially if they fail afterwards.
  14. Well best of luck mate ,now you'll be waiting for the day to mate ,then to see if she's took, then to see how many she has ,haha be nice strong pups
  15. I swam 1/2 of that with him, I was willing him on as he started swimming up stream haha. Good on him, great to see a terrier doing other jobs ,so many miss out ,just being lead walked to the job and back
  16. youve missed a bit Haha I thought blacky had a hairy thumb
  17. Agree with what you say jeemes,in regards to inbred lines and families but the lad wants a litter out if his 2 dogs, As far as I'm aware he hasn't got a line ,and would be best at least waiting to know what he has before breeding. Like you say no guarantees it will produce the same better or worse , But the least we can do is to try to breed off better parents .
  18. But it does highlight not to keep photos etc on phones and cameras etc I'm not sure a judge will believe "shot and retrieved" or "preban" lol
  19. Typical lefty reporting of the BBC and biased rspca propaganda. They showed little proof that there was any wrong doing. Surely if anyone owns a working dog it is responsible ownership to keep a first aid kit ? And if we keep a knife we are all guilty
  20. You don't want to go there pal,you would never be the same again
  21. You have probably just helped king over the edge although I bet his dogs a bit big for his pants
  22. Good choice ,I can see you are a connoisseur of mouthing canine genitalia . Glad you didn't go for fish paste that would be disgusting.
